Mainoo, what's he really good at? Plain boring player and does not have a single asset to his game. Bulky legs and good PR, other than that he's just an average player. 

And then we have THE most overrated player I have seen since I have started following this sport. Garnacho. This guy is just a product of  massive PR through social media and all the kids getting their hair cut like him and the fact he is at United and can bring streamers to private afterparties. Mainoo wants to operate in the same space as Palmer. It's keeping Nkunku out of the team and forcing him to play at #9. We've seen Mainoo in the double pivot and at DM,he's absolutely horrible, no awareness, no defensive nous. 

Totally agree on the PR of Garnacho, he's one of the most hyped players in the world with nothing to show for it. If he's the answer then I have to wonder what the question was.

Picture this. We tried to get Anthony Gordon. We got Cole Palmer. We are rumoured to be in for Garnacho.

That's true, but also for some reason he's been tasked with whipping crosses in, instead of attacking the box as a goalscorer which is by far his best skill. 

There's potential in him but I don't think we're a good option for him either. He needs to go to a mature team (like a PSG etc) where he can spend a few more years being a star squad player. He's not a budding superstar looking to prove himself, he's a kid on the verge of early burnout.

Garnacho was one of United's most productive players last year but seems to be out of favour under Amorim, partially because Diallo has been very good recently. If we sign him I would assume it would be as a replacement for Mudryk who is probably finished here. But I would prefer not to fund United's rebuild.

Whether he would be a success or not will split opinion but is actually somewhat immaterial. 

Personally I think he has the attributes to do well, but the important thing for me, if there is any substance to this rumour,  is at least we are targeting a striker that is a recognised, senior, elite striker.

I want us going after Vlahovic, Sesko, Osimhen, Gyokeres, etc rather than 19 yo unheard of kids that the PR machine pumps up as being the next best thing on the back of nothing.

With the form that Jackson is in, let's get this deal done.
