January 6, 20251 yr Quote Chelsea may do more incoming business other than centre back. Remember what I told you on Nkunku, in case he or his agent says let me go, could be one to watch. @FabrizioRomano Sounds like there are whispers Nkunku may want to leave this month. Assuming we will bring in an actual ST if he does.
January 6, 20251 yr Looks like we are either in for Guehi or recalling Trev. Guehi has 18 months left so his price should be lower than the £75 million Newcastle were quoted in the summer. We also have a 15-20% sell on clause which should mean he’d cost around £50 million. A no brainer if it’s legit.

January 6, 20251 yr Sell Disasi for 12m 20% sell on clause 40m offer for Guehi Should cost us 20m in total. Looking at it like that, it’s definitely worth doing.

A no brainer if it’s legit. Smart move is to sell Disasi and recall Chalobah (in his shoes I would say; “no thanks”), and reassess the market in the summer. Find it weird we are not looking at Barca with their current issues. Christensen is fit and no getting game time, he is probably available on loan. He can also cover the Lavia hole in midfield. Araujo would also be a world class buy, and Barca are in negotiations with Juve for a sale.
January 7, 20251 yr I've always wondered if Guehi is tall enough, and thought he was sleeping at the Euros on some goals. But he is well rated by all in PL, and if Newcastle were willing to pay near £75M then it says a lot. Would support him arriving and having a little more presence, assertiveness and quality in CB position.
January 7, 20251 yr Don't see what the fuss with Guehi is. He's not much better than the options we have, and he's homophobic. Don't want him here.

January 7, 20251 yr David Ornstein has tweeted they could reluctantly listen to offers for him. Bravo Jim Ratcliffe! He’s really making a difference at that club lol.
January 7, 20251 yr It’s come from Ornstein who is quite reliable. United fans don’t seem happy about it.
January 7, 20251 yr Mainoo and Manchester United are far apart in negotiations with Mainoo wanting around £200,000 a week. United may decide it’s better to cash in now or the Summer. Chelsea leading the race. (@ChrisWheelerDM) #CFC Not sure we’ll pay £200k a week

January 7, 20251 yr Where’s Mainoo playing? Not sure why we’d spend £50-60 plus million on a central midfielder when we have Enzo, Moses, and Lavia. Especially when we really need a center back, goalie, and possibly a new striker. I know we make some mental decisions at times but I don’t see this as anything other than paper nonsense.

All these years of buying recklessly and getting nothing in return (outgoings) and their lack of UCL football this season (and probably the next ones, too) have put them in FFP & PSR territory and they are now forced to sell in order to buy any more players. If Amorim wants new players, he must sell first, there is no way about it anymore. Mainoo represents pure profit, but he is no way an 80-100M player as those deluded muppets at RedCafe think. United are desperate and clubs know this and their squad options are limited in terms of what players represent any value in the market in terms of FFP and PSR. Because if they want to sell Hojlund for less than 74M two years after they bought him for that amount, they are in an even bigger trouble as the deal would be registered as a loss. Same goes for Mount, or Zirkzee or all of the other bang average players they bought in the last couple of years. They cannot sell them at a loss for the moment. They will probably try to sell Mainoo and Garnacho and get rid of the big wages like Rashford, Casemiro, Eriksen to free up some space. At the moment I believe United try to make Mainoo look like a w**ker in the media to please their fans when they will eventually sell him, telling them he did not want to play for them anymore and wanted a new fat contract. Truth is they are in such a big mess, they are forced to sell him if they are to even think of new signings.

Manchester United are a financial behemoth. They are #2 in football revenue despite a decade of failure on the pitch. Their ability to generate sponsorship and merchandising revenue is like no other club on the planet. We know that revenue is tied to success, which suggests that Manchester United's revenue is the current floor. If (admittedly, a big if) they ever get their sh*t together on the pitch and start competing as a top club again, they will utterly dwarf every other club, including Real Madrid, in financial terms. And if that ever happens you can bet your last dollar we'll see talk of scrapping PSR and the ESL all over again.

I agree, but it looks like the sponsorship deals alone can't bail them out any longer. It worked for the past 10-12 years, now reality finally hit them and must find other sources of income, too.

The directors probably see profit making more than squad improvement if they can get him on the cheapish side of £50 million that is.
