Random Rumours

The only thing I remember was reading something in MARCA where Kondogbia said Madrid is his dream club after him being linked to them. Maybe Mourinho is aware of him and some scouting that took place. There were rumours that Chelsea also scouted him a few months back.

It's probably just one of those easy transfer links for a journo to come up with though.

I wouldn't mind seeing transfers like these. Then seeing them turn into world class or atleast good, reliable players, but looking at what happened to Arsenal, you can't help but think.

That depends on what the plan is with Oscar and DeBruyne, if they were to play more in the pivot, this is exactly the type of player we need

I agree with that, but was more referring to the attitude problems they mentioned.

LIVERPOOL to be named as the team that hacked Man City's scouting network.

Thoughts and comments in red.

Barcelona have targeted Juan Mata for a shock summer swoop because they believe he has fallen out with Jose Mourinho.

This being the Jose Mourinho who said he will make no decisions about players futures until he has had a chance to speak with them all when they return to pre-season training?

How you "fall out" with a manager you have yet to meet/speak to is unclear.

Mourinho insisted last week he has not spoken to Mata, or any of the Chelsea players on Confederations Cup duty in Brazil, since being reappointed.

But rumours that the Special One is not convinced by the Stamford Bridge club's Player of the Season have grown in recent weeks.

These "rumours" they wouldn't be the ones put out by the Red Tops would they? You know, the ones who invent stories in order to sell newspapers or get hits for their web pages to increase revenue from their advertising.

And the Nou Camp side have now sent out feelers in the direction of the former Valencia man Mata, ahead of a likely £30million bid.

Two times player of the year, one of the best 5 players in the Premier League is worth "only" £30m in a market that saw a 28 year old with only 8 caps for his country move from the Ukraine to the Premier League for the same fee?

The latest claim, coming from Catalonia, suggests Mourinho has blocked a wage increase due the 25-year-old under the terms of his current contract.

Sources in Spain insist Mata's 19 goals and 35 assists last term entitled him to a pay rise, but it has been vetoed at Mourinho's orders.

Sources in Catalonia, Barcalona (Real Madrid's biggest rivals and Mourinho's former employers) putting out stories that paint "The Happy One" in a poor light to his new clubs supporters. The Spanish Sports press is well known for its impartiality of course, especially when reporting on Real Madrid and Barcalona.

Chelsea have dismissed the story, pointing to the fact that Mata still has three years left on the contract he signed when he arrived from Valencia for £23m in 2011.

But Barca, who were interested in Mata two years ago before signing Chilean Alexis Sanchez instead, are now preparing the grounds for an all-out assault by making overtures to his father and agent, who has the same name as the Blues star.

Mata has given no indications whatsoever of being unhappy in London and the Blues are unlikely to be impressed with Barca's blatant attempt to instigate problems.

No Mata has never said he is unhappy in London, in fact he says he loves it here and only last week gave an interview to Chelsea's official site saying he looks forward to next season at the club and hopes to challenge for the league title having already won 3 trophies in 2 years.

The Catalan side, who have already landed Brazilian prodigy Neymar in a £40m deal, are preparing to balance the books by selling Sanchez, Spurs target David Villa, forward Cristian Tello and midfielder Thiago Alcantara, who has interested Manchester United and scored a hat-trick on Tuesday as Spain beat Italy in the European U21 Championship Final.

Getting rid of all four would also clear the way to land Mata, if Mourinho envisages instead using Eden Hazard as his play-maker in the "No 10" role.

Because of course Jose is well known for being inflexible about rotating players in certain roles and positions in the pitch, he wouldn't for example maybe have it in mind that Mata, Hazard and Oscar could all "share" the "No 10" role....

That would be a big call, even for the Special One, after the huge impression Spaniard has made in his two seasons in west London.

Wish mourinho would just come out and squash these mata rumours

it could be very well him not wanting to dance to their tune

The Spanish press have an agenda. Expecting a statement on a new contract for Juan Mata after the Confederations Cup #CFC.

My god, I cant believe he is still just 21. Its hard to imagine he was in the squad here three years ago.

Good for the boy getting to go back to his native country. I hope he blossoms at PSV, always liked that club.
