Kevin De Bruyne

Featured Replies

Nothing to do with the size of the club.

As for why they would accept, there's all sorts of incentives. Lower transfer fee than what the player would normally command, taking the transfer fee in longer/smaller instalments, etc.

Kevin De Bruyne has played more minutes of football against Chelsea (180) than for them in the Premier League/Champions League (160)

Shame it didn't work out with DeBruyne. He just couldn't cope with the competition. Some players respond with a fight, like Willian and some fade out like KdB. Well as much as it hurts it is better we get rid of him. I'm sure the path he is choosing will make him a top player.

I'm not that bothered really, it's fairly obvious he wasn't willing to fight for a place, he just wants first team football now.
Better off elsewhere, and we make a profit, sounds good to me.

Buy back and sell on clauses are for small clubs to make profit on losing their talents. We are better than that.

Why would anyone agree to a buyback anyway.

I'm betting we wished we put one on Matic when we sold him to Benfica, looks like they're about to make a financial mug out of us.

Well I've heard we did.

There is a sell on and Chelsea is just letting this constant rumours about us and him to continue to push his price up for wherever he is actually gonna go.

That's just what I heard though.

Sad to seem him go as his potential was fantastic, He seems to be one of those players 50/50 on mentality and liking the social aspect of being a top flight footballer more than being dedicated on the pitch.

Rumour is KDB's transfer to Wolfsburg is set to be completed today.

Yep,  looks like he's financing the return of Matic.  Good luck KDB, but I think we are covered for attacking midfielders, whereas we desperately need a good defensive midfielder,

I just hope we put a 'sell-on' or a 'first-refusal' clause into the contract.

KDB will go to the top, mark my words.

Doubtful! If he was as special as some make out he'd have broken into the team by now.

If he's so good on the pitch he must be the world's worst trainer...

Seriously though, £20m for a player who has made three appearance for us? Quality business, our biggest sell up to this point was Robben for £24m donkeys yonks ago, to get close to that for a player the club feel isn't good enough is pretty good going and should we sign Matic it means we've not paid out a lot in transfer funds this month.

Think people need to relax with the whole poor attitude in training thing. He's never displayed such behaviour at any point in his career, he got where he is today through hard work and wanting to always better himself. He was highly regarded as a very hard worker at Bremen and still is for his national team.

It wouldn't be the first time Jose has said something just to get a reaction.

When you are not comfortable in your surroundings you probably wont be able to perform at a top level. Chelsea wasn't his team and London not his city. Wolfsburg is a small place with half the fans working for Volkswagen and they have the money to make such a big deal. Good luck to the lad in the future!

I am not saying he had a poor attitude, what I am saying is if he was really as good as some made out he would have had more opportunities.

It's a simple case of not having enough spaces available in the team. We all knew when the season started we had too many attacking midfielders, we all knew 1 had to go, if i had to get rid of any it would have been De Bruyne. I have no problem with him and i think he will go on to have a good career, but would i give up any of our attacking midfielders for him ? no i wouldn't.
