It's actually become even more of a 'stand out' date for me. I met my missus on this day a year later and it's extremely possible my daughter was conceived the following year on this day. I locked myself in the bathroom the whole day the next year for fear of life changing events happening, but things have been ok the past couple of years, so I might take a gamble and atleast make it out into the garden today :laugh2:

Careful! Report back tomorrow, so we know you and your life are safe :laugh2:

I concur with others whenever I watch this back I feel like Bayern are gonna take of their chances or Robben will slot home that pen or that Luiz will miss. It's so weird that I still feel the same feelings I felt watching it that night. It's utter crazy that we won it in 2012. I always used to say to my mates whenever we went out the CL in 05, 05, 06 etc that we would win it one day and probably have our worst team we've had. Well I was right in many ways, we had some ageing players, some players who were not good enough overall but did a job etc. It's just amazing. I honestly can't ever see anything in football ever topping that night for me. It's the only time I have ever cried after a game. All the years of hurt were suddenly worth it, I feel without that it wouldn't have ever felt the same.

Its an easy date to remember, 1905 that's easy, then 2012, an amazing sporting year. Make sure you get married on that date :laugh2:

I was thinking that earlier :laugh2: but actually we're getting married on another iconic and memorable date - 11th November.

Today is not only the 5th anniversary of using winning the Champions League it is also the 10th anniversary of us beating Man U to win the FA Cup. And the scorer of the winner in that game was Didier. From the club website:

I'll have to have a couple of whiskies later to mark the anniversaries.

Have a few for me it's my birthday

That distant roar from the other end when Drogba nets the penalty is spine tingling.

Thanks for that. It's all there: Schweinsteiger's dejection and the nice touch of the two Bayern players coming to console him; the simplicity of Drogba's shot and then the roar from the far end and total silence from the camera end. Finally, the pain etched on the supporter's face in the last shot.

We've been in both places and we know the highs and lows of sport.

I keep wondering how Schweinsteiger's penalty didn't hit Cech on its way out.

It's a bit like rewatching a great movie, isn't it. You know the result, and the story, but it still takes you on an emotional ride.
