Our Youth on Loan

Featured Replies

Add one more, Marin is off to Turkey. Starting to think Marin is using us to jetset around Europe. Spain, Belgium, Italy, Turkey.

If he can then why not? We picked him up after all, not the other way around.

I have lost track of a few of our loanees. Anyone know what's happened to Chalobah? Where is he?

IF we do manage to get Pogba, that pretty much spells the end of his chances at Chelsea. Wonder where he'll end up?

Chalobah is still kicking around at the moment, played for the under 21s recently.

I think him and Piazon are meant to be joining Reading on loan this season.

Folk are making fun of the number of players we have out on loan - 33 FFS!

Just saw the Paddy Power post on Facebook - you have to laugh

"Scientists have predicted that by the year 2020, you will never be more than 6ft away from someone who is 'on loan from Chelsea'.

I don't really see the fact that we have our fingers in so many different pies as a bad thing, certainly not for the club.

We've got a myriad of reserve options (although in reality few if any will make an impact on the first team), we make money from the deals, they develop as players, and we are forging connections with dozens of clubs across Europe. The sheer quantity of loanees is silly but each one is an asset to the club in one form or another.

Harry Redknapp: My knowledge of and effort towards football is patchy

He’s not going home thinking, ‘Right, let’s check on Islam Feruz at Hibernian’, is he? He’s not going to watch videos of these lads. It can’t happen because he hasn’t got time.

If you look at the amount of foreign players brought in by clubs during this transfer window, 54 per cent were from overseas and I don’t even know the names of half of them.

I like how he feels that having people keeping tabs on loan players and compiling reports on their progress is a bad thing.

Shows that 'Arry is a bit of a dinosaur with regards to his attitudes towards football... Bit too stuck in the "good ol' days" to be in a place to comment on the running of an elite football club (something he has no first hand experience of).

I really thought this was going to be something real and useful like current stats for the season.  Nope it's computer game stuff !

Haha well maybe this will satisfy you somewhat.

Reports for our Centre Backs on loan.

  Christensen (19)
Currently back in the side after a short stint on the bench after the 4-0 drumming by Dortmund, during his period on the sidelines Borussia Mochenglabach lost all 3 games, conceding 7 goals, this poor defensive form giving Christensen the perfect chance to return back to the side after his poor showing against Dortmund.
Since his reintroduction Borussia's defensive and general form has turned around and they have managed wins in there the last 2 games.
With the team only conceding 4 goals in the 3 games since Christensens return a much needed improvement on the previous 11 conceded in 4 games.

  Omeruo(21)
Omeruo has been a central figure for Kasimpasa playing every minute of the season so far. Kasimpasa seems to have been very solid defencely having only conceded 2 goals in there 5 league games.

  Kalas(22)
Kalas has been fleeting in and out of the Middlesborough side with 5 starts in 8 league games but recently has been sat on the bench for 3 of the last 4 games, all of which won by Middlesborough.
However this doesn't show the whole story, with Kalas in the side the defence looks more solid conceding only 2 in 5 games, with cup games 3 in 7.
Whereas every game without Kalas in the side Middlesborough have conceded.

Most of Kalas's game time has been coming out of position at RB (4 out of 7 apps).
Which to me looks like it might be the future for the player, being just over 6 foot he is a little shorter than the average CB and his impressive athletic ability, RB seems like it could be a very good fit for the player.
He has even managed a very good assist in his game against Burton in the league cup being described as 'a stunning cross' which was place perfectly into the space between the keeper and the last defender, perfect for the striker to nip in for the finish.
This to me highlights that he would have the ability to convert to this role.

   Hector(23)
Like Kalas the 23 year old Hector is struggling to cement a place in a Championship outfit, Starting 4 out of Readings 9 games so far at CB also getting 3 last minute substitutes at DM.
However with 3 of his 4 starts coming in the last 3 Championship games hopefully this is the start of a prolonged run in the side.
He also captained the side in 2 of their league cup games, in which he put in a very solid performance in the game against Everton (actually watch bits of this one) and was unlucky to be punished for a very soft foul which lead to an Everton goal.

  Davey (20)
The 20 year old has had a very versatile start to his loan at Perterborough playing all along the back line, even managing to win player of the month whilst playing in multiple positions.
Despite this Davey has been dropped to the bench for the last 3 games and Peterborough who have had a difficult start to the season have turned there form around with out a loss in either of these games.
Hopefully Davey can rekindle the kind of performances that won him player of the month and force himself back into the side, which is performing well without him.
