I dunno....I cant help feeling a bit sorry for him.....He hasnt fitted the bill and he knows there is growing resentment...His confidence must make him scared to come on the pitch....I keep feeling that just around the corner things will hugely change...Truth is , for his and our sakes,he should move on by summer. It doesnt help with the slaggings he gets. Its not a one man team

Just hope he does well. Don't see the point in booing him.

We definitely shouldn't boo Torres - it would only make Benitez jealous. He needs to know that all the boos are for him.

That famous song by the Brotherhood of Man, save - all - your -boo's for me, save all those boo's for me, bye bye Rafa bye bye.

Torres has chopped all his hair off!

Maybe like Samsen in reverse...

He's shouldn't worry, there are enough boo's to go around judging from our previous games.

So Torres has had a haircut?

With no hairband to adjust, maybe he will play football today.

I think this is current, we shall see...

Fantastic, gutsy performance again, terrific touch and composure.... held up the ball so well too.

On the plus side, he didn't look quite as slow...streamlined haircut and all...must've been holding him back all this time.

Played better than i'd feared he would, still a big improvement when Ba came on, main issue today was that he struggled to hold the ball up against Vermaelen, not really strong enough..

There were two occasions when he turned on the burners and looked to have real pace....why doesnt he run like that all the time?!

Maybe not being the only striker at the club has given him a kick up the arse.

Probably the fear of pulling his hammies again. I've been lucky enough to have never torn my hamstrings, but I know plenty who have and most of them run within themselves because of it.

The ball that dropped to his path in the box in the first half was a brilliant goal scoring opportunity. Ba, Hazard, Oscar, Mata, Cahill, Terry all would have buried that or at least hit that towards the goal. Torres absolutely skied it. If he'd buried it it had been a lot easier in the second half. That is unacceptable for a starting striker at a team as big as us. Unacceptable. Nothing wrong with the man physically, nothing at all. He still has pace, power and all that. Do the team have a psychologist?

Sorry, I cocked that up -  in reply to Hazard-a-Guess who said

"Once Benitez realises that we can all move on"

I said

NO!  We can all move on once Benitez has gone!

That scans - it would make a good chant.

The worst thing about that chance was that Ivanovic was stood all alone in an onside position at the far post, so even if Torres had skewed it wide Ivanovic would have been able to tap it in!

Overall another poor performance by Torres in all facets. I suppose he was relatively less useless than usual, though. Shocked to see him show a bit of pace.

The first time when he just turned the burners on it was like he was thinking "sh*t, i DO still have pace!! I'm back!!" then totally forgot that he had to shoot/control the ball

Yes, his touch in that incident was woeful, as it so often is, but I don't think he turned the burners on at all. He didn't out-pace anyone in that incident, he skipped past a defender who had a standing start.
