CFC payed too much for Torres and it can't be denied that he's not done well in the league, this year. That said, he's a brilliant player, when in form, and his thinking and his touch are spot-on. I reckon Torres can regain confidence under JM (if he's kept) and quickly regain form.

4 goals against Tahiti.

Any top class striker - business as usual

When torres does it - weak opposition

Unfairly criticized.

Be gone Troll. Return to the land of the scouse and never return, and take the others here with you.

How is that incorrect? What he said has substance . He is unfairly criticized at times .

If you watched the game, you would have saw Torres was rather average. He's a professional Footballer with tons of experience playing against amateurs. He also had SIlva, Cazorla, Mata and Villa providing for him. He played OK. Nothing special.

if torres deserves credit for scoring 4 against coconut pickers and teachers (they arent even professional footballers), then it really shows how low he has fallen

If we want goals I think Torres and Phil Gledman should be our strikers for next season.

Torres got four against Tahititty, but Fat Phil scored seven against The Duck & Ferret reserves last April in a relegation decider for Division 5 of the North Herts Sunday League.

Phil & Nando should start working on the goal celebrations in training now. Fat Phil has a brilliant one where he runs over to the touchline and mimics smoking a fag and drinking a pint.

So lets say Drogba did the same thing. Or Van Persie. Or Cavani. Wouldn't you say it's expected? But torres...weak opposition. I guarantee, for the former, nothing would be discussed other than the four goals. The rest of the performance would not be a talking point. But the fact that its torres and he's an easy target for media and fans...We try to find a negative in anything he does. I can see if it was another teams striker, but a Chelsea player?

It's like blind hatred for a person for no reason. Lest not forget, whether we like it or not, he's STILL a Chelsea player. If he does do well under Jose, what then?

If Drogba did the same thing, yes it's expected. We also expected and knew that Drogba could put in several top performances against big teams as well as small teams for Chelsea.

My tooth hurts, don't let our lack of adulation for Torres goals last night get to you fella. The more astutue amongst us know four goals against Tahiti, or four goals against the Singha All-Stars, or four goals against the BNI Indonesia All-Stars, (both of whom we play in our pre-season games), is no indication whatsoever of a top-class strikers true worth. It is a run-out. A bit of team bonding. A training excercise which allows a manager to experiment. No more, no less.

Moron look how many he scored in the league?

The thing about Torres is that he hasnt been much better this year then last. Yes he has scored more, but he has also played A LOT more games against weaker sides. When you look at his overall play its usually piss poor. Wanders around looking disinterested, dosnt win a single duel and loses the ball the moment he gets it. Thats the majority of Torres performances this year. Fair play to the lad, he had a few games this year when he was rather good, but I can count them on one hand. Thats just not enough for a team looking to challenge for the premiership, regardless of what his overall goal tally looks like.

If he does stay, at least we can expect a decent run in the League Cup.

I'm sorry if this is off topic but as well as being a Chelsea fan I am also a Heart of Midlothian fan, (my local team). You may have heard that they have gone into administration and the club has been told that it has no funds whatsoever and needs about £700,000 before the start of the season to stay alive. I am posting on here to ask anyone who would feel generous enough to donate any money to the club through our fan site (jamboskickback). You can donate here

Thanks

The reason that people say weak opposition when Torres scores 4 goals against Tahiti is because they are a weak opposition and Torres doesn't score 4 goals against good teams. Didn't the Nigeria striker score 3, and could have scored atleast 4?
Its "business as usual" for other good strikers because like it says, its their usual business and they usually score goals against teams of all different qualities. I don't get what is so confusing about that.

Why are you posting that sh*t in every topic? I'd rather donate to saving real hearts than some tin pot club that couldn't keep track of finances.

Thanks for your input.

Thanks for your input. I hope you feel big. It's not really like it's the fans fault is it? We're trying to do all we can and if chelsea got this way so would you.

It's a Chelsea forum, if I login to read about Torres or Mata, I don't fancy reading the same thing unrelated in every topic. It's called Spam.

Posted on one other topic. Spam right enough. There's no case for criticism.

If you want to its own topic in the shed end lounge, that's fine and good luck with saving the club but putting it in popular topics and people will get pissed.

Thanks. I didn't know the best place to post.
