when he first started getting a lot of attention behind him 2-3 years ago i legitimately thought he'd be the first of this new young crop to break through

 

but he's virtually the same player now that he was when he was 17...maybe he's filled out slightly but ive not seen anything else that has changed about him at all

Maybe the contract he got 2/3 years ago made him think he'd made it. Too many players get improved contracts to tie them down to see if they're good enough and then they don't kick on.

Harry Kane for example after his England call up went back to Spuds and was average for the rest of the season. Haven't seen any u21s game this tournament but sounds like most of this golden age when asked to step up came up short.

Yep, just saw this on Twitter. Could be an excellent move for all concerned.

He will certainly improve in that league if given the game time.

With an option to buy though it seems like so he will be gone if he suceeds.

Made his first start in Napoli against Brugge in the Europe League. 

Barely played. Another wasted loan.

Thanks to the Europa league he actually has some game time, otherwise he wouldn't be getting a look in.
He better be getting a high standard of training there as it seems he is only going to get a sniff in the Serie A unless there happens to be a few injuries.

Rumours of a transfer away. Sad really, he looked like he could have been the "one". But then so was Mancienne, so was McEachran...dare I say it, Loftus-Cheek is the new big hope. Looks more talented, but we need to start giving our players actual minutes rather than letting them stagnate on the bench or on loan.

Missed the boat with him, should ve given him a first team place after that Watford loan, we didn't and he lost all important momentum in his development.

Hopefully we have a buy back clause and we can snap him up in a couple of seasons, if he is starting to fulfill that early potential.

Would like to think the club has learnt from the Matic transfer by insisting on a buy back clause. A couple of years in Italy and who knows, he may develop into a player on the same level as say Verratti.

I thought he had a tidy game yesterday when he came on. Did the simple stuff right, given our lack of home grown players in the squad he could be an option. 

 

Agreed charierre. Had a few nice moments. Depends of course what happens with Mikel and Matic, but he wouldn't let us down as a backup/partner for Kante. His long range distribution was probably the highlight for me. His movement off the ball was a bit lazy for mine at Toulon but that appeared less of an issue yesterday.

He was certainly more impressive than RLC who was very poor in his stint yesterday.

Agreed.I feel chalobah could be the one come to first team and grab the regular spot.The kid needs the chance this season.
