If you look at the whole match and all the fouls he had to put up with, then you look at that second yellow tackle in context, then you can see why Eden bought the tackle, such a dumb tackle, the kind of dumb tackle that can swing a game. Drogba did one that could so nearly of cost us as our greatest ever night when he gave away the penalty, a stupid dumb tackle that could of been so costly if not for the best goalkeeper to ever walk the planet.

 

Defenders always target the opponent's best player. Trying to step on his confidence. Eden Hazard deserves that call.

Apparently he's out for '10-15 days' with a calf strain. So he misses the two Belgian games. Hopefully he's back fit for the Palace game on April 1st.

You'll find that you can do both at the same time.

Fergie would do this all the time to his star players drop them before international break and say they injured to rest them. Haz now has 2 weeks to rest that's a big break for this time of the season

A little rest will do him good. At this stage of the season we have to expect some players to be picking up the odd knock, especially when sh*te teams can only resort to kicking the legs off us to try and stop us (and they still fail)

I blame the injury on Jose, couple of weeks away from football ( especially those internationals) will do him good.

I blame the ref for not stopping it early on.

Saw a stat on Opta that Hazard is the most subbed player in the premier league this season, being subbed off 19 times this season. Didn't realise Conte took him off so much.

Jose use to play him for 90 minutes every game bar League Cup and FA vs lower opposition and it resulted in him burnt out mentally and physically, he never even use to sub him out when we were winning comfortably. I think Conte is aware of that and taking every possible step to avoid that happening again.

Typical Real, use the usual dirty tricks to unsettle players. I'm more worried about Courtois than Hazard, he will be the starting GK and his families are still in Spain. Hazard, should he move now will still play second fiddle to Ronaldo, Bale, a player of his statue won't like that.

Conte managed Hazard's game time pretty well, most of the time he was off to protect the lead. Unlike Jose, Conte didn't make many Mikel for Hazard type of subs

Hazard was off to protect the lead but Conte didn't make any Mikel for Hazard type of subs. Same thing isn't it?

Can't see us selling Hazard unless he tries to force through a move. 

We have absolutely no reason to sell regardless of how much money Real might offer. 

He's got three years left on his contract and he's our most important attacking player

Surely he'd want another crack at the big one in a blue shirt before considering leaving.

IF he did go it would need to be a world record bid much more than Bale.

Wouldn't be worth it to sell in any case because who else is there that can offer what he can?

That being said it matters little if the player actually wants to go these days as we have seen Real lure Ronaldo from United who had a long contract and they still got him.

I think it's most likely he will extend his deal he seems like the type of person who once happy he stays also getting Drogba back at the club once he retires is keep as Drogba played a major role in his acquisition and he still sees him as a big brother

Even still, we would be extremely reluctant to sell Hazard. He's so valuable to our team and regardless of who we did sign I think we would be a weaker team without him because he's such a big part of the identity of this current Chelsea team.

Yeah I wouldn't be selling him at all, he's something we just cant replace IMO.

When Madrid want someone they usually get them if that player wants to go.

I can't see him leaving though because we have CL next season and with Conte he looks to be enjoying his football...plus I have read Madrid are looking to bring in Mbappe which would be crazy money plus a keeper so I don't see them having the cash to spash over £100 million on Eden.

Think we've all criticized Hazard at some point for what is seen as inconsistently but deep down, we all know how much weaker and less of a threat we would be without him. When you think of some of the brilliant goals he has scored over the last 12 months, goals that only he is capable of producing in our current squad.

They showed a clip on Chelsea TV of some of our best moments so far in 2017 and the majority of the clips involved Hazard. Until we identify a player of his type and ability, either elsewhere or in the academy, we must hold on to him at all costs.

 

Bale + £75m imo

Real wouldn't sell Bale with Ronaldo now 33, if anything they want Hazard to replace Ronaldo's left role with Bale on the other side of the park to complete their attack.

The only players I could see them parting with to us would be James and Morata....both couldn't hold a candle to Eden.
