Man City's stadium evolvement has always struck me as the opposite to Chelsea. They have increased capacity when it is clear the demand is not always there. For instance they got a crowd of just 30,000 for one of their CL Group games this season and 10,000 below capacity for their FA Cup replay with Huddersfield (who had 6,000 fans in the attendance). Each and every PL game including what should be one of their biggest home matches vs Liverpool and we see empty seats all over the stadium. Whoever they have doled season tickets out to at cut prices are clearly not that committed. Not as yet anyway. Yet they plan to extend their North Stand to further expand capacity to 61,000. Their strategy appears to be having the big stadium already in place as their fanbase grows. Chelsea by contrast have long needed a bigger stadium because the demand is already there.
March 23, 20179 yr The English based support is there to fill it. Plus the tourist interest in coming to London to watch a game is strong whilst we are successful. Only about 6000 tickets are for sale for a home game if the away allocation is 3,000. So if we have in the region of 50,000 plus? Members. The extra tickets should be bought, also driving away touts as it will be easier to get a ticket.

March 23, 20179 yr We got 40,000 people to watch our second string play Bristol Rovers at £25 a pop for a midweek game where we had about a weeks' notice to sell tickets. We wont struggle to sell out a 60,000 stadium. Next.

F**king hates touts especially the ones blatantly selling right out side the ground...even under the big sign saying don't buy from touts...like taking the piss

We have been having sell outs for fa cup and league cup home games for well over 10 years without fail, teams like Sc**thorpe, Macclesfield, southend,Peterborough, Gillingham, huddersfield, notts county, etc have all had 40k crowds, something that gets forgotten by other clubs and the media, spurs, west ham, arsenal, Everton, Liverpool, Newcastle, city, have all had some pitiful cup crowds, y*ds, arse, and pikies always go quiet on this, because deep down they know that all of them to an extent missed out when the prem really took off, and we were the ones on the rise, hate the word brand, but the Chelsea brand is more well known round the world then any other London club, go to africa and they've never heard of spurs or hammers!!! And arsenal are the football equivalent of a rugby club!! All blazers and public schools, o well arsenal, spurs and hammers dust that chip of your shoulders, we'll have the best ground in London, and nearest to central London, Londons first Londons finest!!!

Was just roughly estimating how many could buy a ticket every home game.

March 26, 20179 yr Does anyone know how exactly the stadium is being funded? Is Roman puling it all out of his back pocket or are transfers etc going to be restricted for the foreseeable?

Beggars can't be .......... I don't mind it, to be honest. All these unusual details give the stadium a little character. Not the sort that Brendan bangs on about, but the sort that makes sure it doesn't look like 95% of the modern football stadiums out there.

They could build stands without the slants but the capacity would be cut too. Colour schemes amongst the seats and underside of the roof can make it not so noticeable as well as the positioning of big screens, banners, signage, etc.

Personally I think being able to buy a ticket at a premium outside a football ground is okay. Sometimes you miss the boat and a tout is the only option.... Buying and selling a few tickets (as long as they are genuine) shouldn't be deemed a crime in a so called democratic society. On occasions when markets dictate you can often buy a ticket for less than face value for various events nationwide and touts make a loss.

Probably quicker depending on the rate of price increase on those seats in the future. Not taking government taxes into consideration?, £40m x 10 years doesn't amount to nett profit.
