August 28, 201312 yr Will wear number 22 apparently. Edit: BrewCrew beat me to it. Edited August 28, 201312 yr by Huttsey
August 28, 201312 yr Will.I.An signed, I wanna scream, and shout, and let it all out..............sorry
August 28, 201312 yr Quoted on the website as saying: 'Chelsea are one of the best clubs in the world, and now I'm going to play for one of the best managers in the world, so I'm very happy and looking forward to it.' Made up quote from me: "Thank God Chelsea saved me from signing from a club that isn't the best in the world with a manager who is a poor imitation of the world's best"
August 28, 201312 yr Such a weird transfer IMO... but hopefully we're in 4 competitions for a very long time this season, with our wide men providing most of the attack - options are good.
August 28, 201312 yr So good we gave him 2 shirts. Nah he just showed up for his medical in his Lampard replica.
August 28, 201312 yr Nah he just showed up for his medical in his Lampard replica. I heard he had "I h8 Spurs" printed on the back.
August 28, 201312 yr We might as well nick Fergie to complete signing the whole Black Eyed Peas line up. Also, 'I gotta feelin" this will be a good signing. I'll get my coat....
August 28, 201312 yr Meanwhile on the spurs forums "Ah well, that's that then. f**k him. Hope he snaps a leg on his debut. Then he gets a flesh eating virus in hospital before contracting AIDS and dying in miserable and constant pain. Complete multic**t." - Aberdeen y*d (The Fighting Cock)
August 28, 201312 yr Some good news, although we knew it would happen. Look forward to seeing some more Brazilian flair on our side! He should prove to be another tricky customer like Hazard in terms of his close ball control and technical ability when taking on players, so I'm sure Premiership defences will be dreading playing against those two in the same starting 11. He also likes to pull off that lovely trick where you flick the ball right then left in one movement, not something I've seen our players do before, but something that will impress the crowd!
August 28, 201312 yr We can now make a first 11 full of midfielders. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BSwgn0KCUAA4hwx.png Personally I feel Mikel should have gone in goal, like when you were at school and you used to make the fat useless kid the goalie every lunchtime.

August 28, 201312 yr How much playing time do we think this guy is actually going to get? Will he be like Hazard and start every match (so far) or like KDB and play every couple of games or like Mata and not play at all?
August 28, 201312 yr I believe this will be the song Willian will be singing for his new team mates http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Z4m4lnjxkY
August 28, 201312 yr Random guess, Jose's preferred midfield 3 will be Willian - Oscar - Hazard Schurrle will be used quite often as an impact sub and Mata will always be the first to replace any of the three should they not play.
August 28, 201312 yr Random guess, Jose's preferred midfield 3 will be Willian - Oscar - Hazard Schurrle will be used quite often as an impact sub and Mata will always be the first to replace any of the three should they not play. Is Jose that stupid?
August 28, 201312 yr Is Jose that stupid? How do you mean? In not having Mata as first choice? Assuming that's what you meant, I'm not sure "stupid" is the right word for it. End of the day this is now Jose's team and he is going to put his stamp on it. I'm just taking a wild guess with my post but he obviously like Hazard a lot, speaking highly of him on a few occasions. He wouldn't have given the okay on the Willian transfer if he didn't intend to play him and Oscar has started all our games in the number 10 role so far and has looked very good both offensively and defensively. There will be a need for rotation but you also need a settled starting XI as much as possible and in my opinion those three could well be Jose's first choice. There is every chance I am wrong but at this moment in time, that's how I see it.
August 28, 201312 yr Yes that is what I mean. I just can't believe any manager would prefer Willian to Mata, especially after the last two years he has had. All he has done is produce. I'm not saying Willian is a bad player but his production wasn't anywhere near Juan's and he played in much weaker leagues. When the big matches come around (late CL games, PL games against top 4) I don't see how Juan shouldn't be picked before Willian.

Like the club were chasing Schurrle since last season and Willian's name was also in the rumors since AVB's time so it looks more like the club's signing than Jose's preference.
August 28, 201312 yr If Mata comes into the plays wells and produces the goods (as he has done for the last two years) then Jose is going to keep on picking him. New manager, clean slate for everyone and previous achievements count for little or nothing. So as impressive as Mata has been for the last couple of years, he's now got a new manager he needs to impress all over again.
