Matic for me, weird choice against ten men but I felt he pushed us forward and set up Demba nicely for the goal, Salah looks like he will be a good player for us next season, I liked his control if not his decision making.

Very hard to say, it can't be any of our defensive players because there was very little defending to be done.

 

Salah made chances and got into good positions and everything was good up until the final pass/shot. I'd have to give it to him as he piled pressure onto them and made them nervous, otherwise we would've probably seen another Aston Villa where they would counter with confidence.

I really didn't think his decision making was poor or his final pass for that matter. I thought that everything he did in the final third was good except his finishing. No composure in front of goal.

Still, Salah motm for me.

Ba, obviously.

Sala reminds me a lot of Aaron Lennon. Hopefully he can continue to progress, has the potential to be a dynamite player with a little more composure and better decision mking

Matic kept us ticking over throughout and gets my vote.

Demba Ba for sure, saved our arses again

Matic for me. His passing and his ability to disrupt any type of attack through the middle were essential throughout the game. Ba close second, he was really doing everything we expect of a striker to do. He scored, held-up the play and found himself in dangerous areas on a couple of occasions.

Ba, took his goal well, and with his strength and aerial ability he gives another dimension to our play.

Cech, the attack was insanely wasteful, the defence didn't have much to do but Cech pulled off some very good saves despite long periods of inactivity.

We have our striker for away games. Eto'o still the man for Stamford Bridge imo.

Ba, literally the only person to hit a shot on target the entire game.

Did well, worked hard, felt the supply to him could of better at times, perhaps due to lack of game time and synergy with the attacking three.

 

Not a game worth writing home about, but three points secured; onward and upwards 

I've been calling for Ba to be given more chances and so was delighted to see him starting but for me the performance showed exactly why he hasn't been.  He doesn't fit into our style at all, his touch isn't good enough, his brain isn't quick enough, he can't play in tight spaces (which accounts for about 90% of our attacking play) and he can't pass a ball.  What I thought he did show though was that he's still a pretty lethal striker, the one time we played to his strength, played the exact sort of ball that he thrived on at Newcastle and westham, he scored.

For me I think he proved that he's a good option coming off the bench if we want to mix things up.

 

My man of the match went to Willian.

Matic for me, 4 assists already since joining which is more than all of our attacking midfielders except Hazard to date.

 

He's added a whole new dimension to our midfield and we are looking a much better team since he returned to the club. 

Matic for me. Salah if he had been a tiny bit more effective.

Also, @Barn, a bit harsh on Ba, i think. His passing is okay imo as well as his hold up play. He doesn't press very well though.

After the game ge mentioned when you're not playing, the match fitness and sharpness suffer as well as the confidence. I expect him to have a good game if he starts next. Have a feeling Torres will get the nod.

I agree Ba's hold up play is pretty good but his passing is woeful. He seems more interested in holding the defender away than passing the ball which means he's usually falling as he tries to make the pass.
