February 10, 201511 yr the thing with Cesc is that he needs a runner, and unfortunately Didier isnt that anymore. he is more of a target man, dont get me wrong, he is still an incredible player but he just lacks that pace. thats why if cesc is back, then remy needs to be up top, because he is always on the move rather than static holding up the ball and laying it off. still take nothing away from drogba, the man's a legend!
February 10, 201511 yr Drogba's legacy was cemented years ago. The guy has nothing more to prove and is now at the end of his career and overall he should be proud of his achievements. I agree that Remy should now be the second striker but if Drogba can be an impact sub and pop up and score some crucial goals from time to time I think everyone would be satisfied. I didn't expect much and apart from just performances themselves Didier is still a pivotal member for the team in providing the leadership that the club is desperately craving for especially after Frank's departure last season. I think winning some trophies at the end of the season would be the perfect send off for him! If he decides to retire then I'd strongly encourage giving Bamford a go next season.
February 10, 201511 yr He scored against Utd from the efforts of others not from his own efforts. So you're saying that he had absolutely nothing to do with the goal against United? Yet he scored it? He's not diminishing his legacy in any way. His body is simply getting old and limiting him, yet he's still capable of scoring a few important goals. He really shouldn't be starting ahead of Remy though in my opinion. I can't believe anyone is feeling Drogba has in any way tarnished his reputation, legacy or whatever here, I commend him for coming back to a club he loves and doing his best to help them achieve more success, he hasn't let us down in any way, maybe a couple of lacklustre performances (how many of our players haven't had a couple of them this season?) but some decent ones as well. He will always be the player that won Chelsea their first CL and he will always for me be a legend. If he has a bad game, I'll support him, the manager watches him in training and feels he still has something to offer, we rest other players when he's on the field and he has been decent enough off the bench as well, I've not seen much of Remy to say he is a better second choice and obviously its horses for courses, Jose will know when to and how to use the two of them to our advantage. I think he's doing as much from the sidelines and in training to have a big influence on how our season pans out and I don't begrudge him a minute on the pitch. I really hope he stays on in some capacity after his playing days are over but I'm in no hurry for the day to come. Can I just say chaps read my post, I in absolutely no way discredited Drogba, just try and look at what I'm saying, it's a matter of opinion, also Blue Daze you've definitely got the wrong end of the stick, in no way have I meant that, I mean I am one of the ones who is defending Drogba here. As for the legacy part, as I said it's a matter of opinion really, a lot of people probably wont even care about it and that's true, it's probably not even worthy of debating about. However he did leave in the best way a player could, and plenty of people didn't want him to come back for that very reason and I don't think it's baffling, I think it was a magical way to end such a great career. Not saying it is completely tarnished because it's a harsh word to use but you can't exactly say his last kick of the ball won us the champions league now can you.
February 10, 201511 yr Regardless how good we both think he is now, surely you're not in the camp that believes anything he does now is somehow tarnishing what he's done here? Maybe "tarnished" is too much of a sweeping, emotional statement. I would prefer if Drogba's playing career had ended with Chelsea that night in Munich because it seemed perfect - written in the starts as Gary Neville put it. Hope for everyones sakes he doesn't go on past this season as the decline will only continue. Being involved with the club, in a coaching / advisory capacity - of course, yes, just not as a player.
February 11, 201511 yr At least last two seasons he was with us around the same time inside these seasons he was crap. Didi comes alive in spring time. He is old and he plays economically at this point. No need to tire the body

February 26, 201511 yr Hello friends from Georgian Chelsea Supporters Club ! Please Review my video about DD11's top 10 goals ! Keep The Blue Flag Flying High !!! Hi mate, do you remember a young Georgian striker we had about twelve years ago called Rati Aleksidze? Sadly he didn't make it here, but he was a massive player on FA Premier League Manager 2002 and as a result I have always remembered him!
February 26, 201511 yr Wouldn't bet against the Drog scoring in the final would you? Especially considering he's already scored against Tottenham once this season and put in a (according to the Shed End at least) Man of the Match performance... and it's at Wembley!
