Completely agree, plus I have always rated Distin very highly. From a quick look on a Bournemouth forum the fans seem to be quite underwhelmed and think he's only going to be signed as backup.

I remember Claudio Cannigia moved to Scotland when he was 34/35 and was the quickest player in the league.

Seems like United are simply throwing more money at the problem, without really identifying what the problem is and having a structured plan to get out of it. They'll succeed to a certain extent simply because of their resources but I don't know if they actually have a cohesive plan for the future. They simply seem to be chasing whatever comes on the market. I have no idea who is identifying their targets.

He has one year left of his contract so unless he was willing to sign a new deal So'ton didn't have much choice.

They'll probably replace him with someone better.
