I do actually agree, the best players for me are the ones who make football look like art rather than a sport.. perhaps why in my opinion the greatest player of all time is not Pele, Maradona or Messi, but Zidane.

Not to say that Messi doesn't make football look like an art.

Hate to bring up an old comment, but how much of Pele and Maradona have you actually seen?

Would not be at all surprised if they show Ivanovic's dive and leave out Valencia's dive.

Sure enough that's exactly what they did. Bran really needs to stop this nonsense though.

Warnock is such a sh*t manager. He's one of these group of managers who wait until someone has got a team promoted and then got sacked and swoop in for another premiership job, even though they are awful managers. It's people like him, Steve Bruce, Mick McCarthy, etc... they rarely get anyone promoted themselves, they just sit in the Championship for a year or so then take the job of someone who did well to get their team promoted and then struggled. Vultures the lot of them.

This post is just incorrect.

This Palace job was the first time ever Warnock had managed a team in the premier league which he himself hadn't promoted. Warnock has infact got 2 teams promoted and was only allowed to see out one of the years. Though I think Warnock is a poor manager.

Mick McCarthy took over Sunderland back when they were pretty much already relegated in March having previously been in international management. Apart from that, he has always rebuilt his career in the championship with successful results.

Steve Bruce has also never taken a premier league job when not being in the premier league himself. He has 3 promotions and 1 relegation on his CV.

If Chelsea were a relegation candidate, I would be pretty content if we hired Bruce or McCarthy as our manager. If we were a championship team, I'd be dreaming of the premier league if either of these two were our manager.

I know it's unpopular, but I actually quite like Colin.

Well it certainly seems that way, but if you've actualy bothered to look all that up, fair enough. Still, Warnock is a cock.

Nah I just know it off the top of my head. Warnock is trash though. I don't mind him as a personality, but I wouldn't want him managing my team.

It's easy for us as Chelsea fans to look at the lower end of the table and slag off certain managers. Personally, Bruce and McCarthy are up there. I do think they are unambitious in the transfer market.

Iain Dowie: now there's somebody who's trash.

While he is certainly limited, I just don't understand what palace expected him to achieve with the sh*t squad he inherited...what Pulis did last season was a freak and he wouldn't have been able to save them again with the current squad...he knew it, wanted more money for signings and wasn't given it, so walked...Warnock comes in with a couple of weeks left in the window and his biggest signing is an average midfielder in McArthur, no top striker...

We all know palace fans are idiots but what Pulis did last season raised their expectations beyond reality...this season was always going to be another survival battle and that's what they've got...I hope they lose it

Teritus your right. Maradona more or less won the World cup single handed in 1986 (no pun intended). But he did exactly the same with Napoli and Italian football in those days was frankly filthy and he got kicked from pillar to post. Yes he's a cheating git but if you look at that second goal against us in 86. Gary Lineker said the pitch was awful and that makes the goal even more exceptional even if thus stick in the craw. Zidane great player but Pele, Maradona and Cruyff are ahead of him.

Mata has been playing pretty well as of late. This spurs and utd game looks like there could be a few goals for either side.

Poor Mata, I've never seen anyone hit the post as much as him on free kicks, I'm certain he hit the post about 3 times on free kicks during his time here.

if we don't get 3 points at white hart lane, i'll be shocked; they are abysmal. Lloris just stands on his line while the ball is being headed about near his goal.

JoeyN, I have to disagree fella, Is it really Courtois' fault that his teams defence gives so little away? Just because De Gea plays in front of a poor defence which allows him to make more wonder saves doesn't qualify as the best keeper, He's certainly up there but he's the same as Lloris just because he plays in front of a poor defence and makes more saves doesn't mean he's the best, With Lloris and De Gea they are on a winner either way, If they make saves, It's them, If they allow a goal in it's the poor defence and was bound to eventually happen.

Courtois for me is the best overall keeper and his clean sheets record will agree as well, De Gea 2nd and Lloris/Hart joint 3rd.

As I said, on current form he's the best.

Courtois is the best overall, due to his dominance in the air. Give it a rest with Hart though. Miles away from them.

How is Hart miles away from Lloris? Lol Lloris is just as error prone as Hart is, Which is the only stick used to beat Joe up with, Other than the fact he's blonde, Does commercials and is English, Maybe if his name was Jose Harato and had Graziano Pelle type hair you would appreciate him more. You say De Gea is best on current form, What's wrong with Courtois' current form? De Gea conceded a goal the other day whereas Courtois kept a clean sheet, Don't believe this media hype of De Gea being some Spanish Manuel Neuer, He's good but he's no Manuel Neuer or Courtois.

Lloris is some keeper, he has been unbelievable this game.

He has made some cracking saves so far, even makes some of them look easy like that Rooney header.

If De Gea had made those saves that Lloris had made in the first half we wouldn't hear the end of it from the commentators. The saves were mentioned of course but the creaming that usually ensues with a De Gea save was noticeably missing.

I would agree with that, different keepers though, Lloris likes to get about, that's why he makes a lot of mistakes, same with Neuer for Bayern.

As for Hart though he isn't adventurous like that, I don't know what happened to Hart, he looked unbelievable 3 seasons ago then went downhill rapidly. I still think he's a good keeper but not a great one.

But for being miles behind Lloris? I'm not sure, Lloris is a fantastic goal keeper but he is one of those that gambles a lot on chances, usually gets them right, very confident keeper, then he will get stupid things wrong like Hazards goal 3-4 weeks ago. I think Lloris is better than Hart by some distance, but that's just my opinion.

Miles behind De Gea and Courtois. Should have been clearer. Lloris is good, but not nearly consistent enough. Bit too eccentric at times too.

Not a fan of his, Warnock though hasn't had the luxury of managing teams in the top flight who were expected to do anything else but get relegated. He has though managed to bring Notts County up through the divisions to the top flight and did a good job at Sheff Utd only to be shafted by the FA. His mouth though is his biggest letdown and probably why he gets a lot of negative press. He also turned us down in the early nineties if rumours are to be believed.

Both Lloris and De Gea are good goalkeepers but they are nowhere near good enough at taking command of their area, so in my opinion they shouldn't be considered the best goalkeepers in the prem. They both look very average from set pieces and crosses.

There is no doubt in my mind that both Cech and Courtois are better than both of them.
