He`s a parody of himself now, yet his mates keep backing him and fighting his cause. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/32236284

'Worn down', ha he's no Jose and knows it.
April 10, 201511 yr So Kompany is out of the Manchester Derby. I think that improves their chances of winning. He's overrated and when things don't go his way he throws a strop and seems to get away with murder.

April 10, 201511 yr I'd love it if he was, The stuff you boys were saying a year ago has been confirmed this year, Demechelis has been our best defender and Mangala has been hung out to dry, Much like Lescott and Nastasic, I also hate Kompany's personality, It's so corny and fake, How the media think he is charming or well spoken is beyond me, I'd love it if Joe or Zabba got the captaincy also, Better leaders.

I'm glad Demichelis' reputation has [to some extent] been rehabilitated as I rate him as an excellent defender who is prone to the occasional gaffe, which is usually made to look far worse than it is by his lack of pace. Good on the ball too. Also you're definitely right about Zabaleta - the man is a legend! I know he hasn't been as good as he was last season but I still rate him as the best right-back in the league. April 10, 201511 yr does this decision come on the heels from Monday when Kompany told Pellegrini he didn't want to come off the pitch? Haha perhaps! We never know what goes on behind closed doors. But in actual fact Bobby is right, it isn't confirmed yet.

Does Pellegrini not rate Zabba? as I picked him for my fantasy team begining of season but he was not being picked regular so had to get rid, I rated him, still do.

April 10, 201511 yr That thug Ashley Barnes blaming chelsea for getting upset over nearly breaking Matic's leg...twat has no shame..and again have to note the sympathetic ear he's getting from the journo writing the piece...somehow even being on receiving end of leg breakers is our problem...see,s to me Barnes only defence is saying no one other than Matic reacted at the time, as if that means it never happened...also conveniently forgets all the other shocking fouls he did that day...anyway if you can stand to see what this cretin has to say, it's here http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/ashley-barnes-interview-chelsea-were-rolling-around-and-screaming-after-every-challenge-10169149.html

So unprofessional, he's made himself look an idiot. The sport media must be slow going at the moment.
April 10, 201511 yr Good to see you back Kinkladze1871, not noticed you around for a week or so (might be just me). You and Spud are a credit to this forum

What we do is get in people’s faces and make it hard for them.” Actually, big teams don't mind that at all, what they don't like is when you consistently make dangerous tackles. I hate this kind of talk, and more often than not you hear it from players from the lower leagues. Get in people's faces..........how is that football ? I blame English coaches, the stuff they are teaching players is so out dated now. Instead of telling them to "get in players faces" why not actually teach them to play some actual football and make good tackles ? No wonder why English footballers are falling behind, our methods are out dated as f**k. "In the stadium no one blinked an eyelid. Everyone got on with the game." Yeah, because hardly anybody seen it at the time. I don't even know why Barnes thinks this is relevant to be honest. Barnes was disguising his challenges all day. The one on Ivanovic, the one on Zouma and the one on Matic, all three of them were disguised because he knows he could have been in trouble if the ref or linesman had seen them. "And [after] every challenge they are screaming and rolling around on the floor, stupid things like that.” Then make proper tackles then. If you can't even make a genuine tackle then maybe football isn't for you. It's funny that he says Chelsea players were screaming and rolling around on the floor. He fell like a ton of bricks just because of a little shove from Matic. “I thank the gaffer for what he did for me – he knows and we all know here that I have not gone to do him properly" Bullsh*t. Sean Dyche is exactly the kind of manager that incourages in your face "football". He's another English manager that needs to get with the times. I have no problem with strong tackles, i love them, one of the best things you can see from one of your players is them putting in a strong tackle. But what Barnes and Burnley were doing that day wasn't tackling. They were just putting in challenges to stop us from getting any control of the game, and they didn't care if they hurt a fellow professional whilst doing it either. If Barnes wants to see a proper tackle then he should look at what Matic, Terry, Azpilicueta and Ivanovic do. They are the players that make proper tackles and it's one of the reasons why they are competing for titles instead of struggling to survive in the Premier League. All he has done in this interview is confirmed that he isn't a very good footballer and that he will never make it to the top..........i'm sure we all knew that on here anyway Edited April 10, 201511 yr by Scott Harris
April 10, 201511 yr /\Yep, and he's free to prattle away in the press thereby condoning what he did and he's been enabled to do so due the lack of action, at the time, and inconsistency of rule application in general.
April 11, 201511 yr Still amazed that tbethe FA didn't charge him for that tackle. Being completely objective and taking my Chelsea bias out of it, do the FA seriously believe that its an acceptable challenge? Shocking.
April 11, 201511 yr I'm still pissed off about events of that day and the coverage of it now...very similar to how we were portrayed as bullying poor wee Stephen 'rhyming slang' hunt and reading after we outrageously got a tad upset over how Cech was given a fractured skull and cudicini was knocked out unconscious in the same game...and yet we are seen as enemies of football if we surround a referee over a decision in a champions league game, even though every club in Europe does the same thing...just bollocks
April 11, 201511 yr According to the Papers Martin Skrtel has put his contract talks on hold until the Summer now. Makes you wonder what is happening at Liverpool.
April 11, 201511 yr Raheem Sterling was booed and heckled at the Liverpool kit launch. Bit much don't you think? I mean if you want the lad to stay treating him like a c**t is hardly the way to go about it.
April 11, 201511 yr Plus why are Liverpool doing a kit launch with so much of the current season left to play?
April 11, 201511 yr I like the LFC mini crisis but the conduct of some of their players is a concern; if LFC haven't performed (if that's why some players are not happy) then the players are as responsible as Brendan imo. Skrtel is a clumsy cart horse of a defender - he's lucky to be playing for anyone let alone LFC.
