April 13, 201511 yr Not really sure why Jose defended the QPR fans yesterday. I think it was clear the atmosphere was way over the top and moved Into the 'poison' category and when objects are thrown to your players the line has been crossed. Good to see QPR have acted on it threatening bans for those supporters. Edited April 13, 201511 yr by Chelsbear
April 13, 201511 yr Not really sure why Jose defended the QPR fans yesterday. Presumably his work with mentally challenged children during his career has left him with a measure of sympathy for QPR fans.
April 13, 201511 yr Not really sure why Jose defended the QPR fans yesterday. My guess, he was happy to come away with 3 points from a game where we probably only deserved 1. What point would there be in mouthing off about the QPR support when we'd already just mugged them off for the win. The game was televised, it was pretty obvious that QPR failed to control their supporters and they're pretty much nailed on to get a fine for it to rub salt into the wound of the loss. Jose's been pretty well behaved media wise since he went onto Sunday Supplement, it's as if he got it all out of his system and I'd say he's been on quite good form charm and personality wise since.

He didn't need to mouth off about it. He was asked a direct question and easily could have said something like "there's no place for it in football and it's not okay" just like he correctly did for the Paris incident.
April 13, 201511 yr He didn't need to mouth off about it. He was asked a direct question and easily could have said something like "there's no place for it in football and it's not okay" just like he correctly did for the Paris incident. But let's be honest, he's answers are easily and quickly spun to make a sensationalist headline. Had he said anything against the home support it could likely have led to a few "Mourinho slams "disgraceful" QPR fans" and then lots of comments about hypocrisy ensue dredging up the conduct of our supporters in Paris and suddenly a cheeky grab and run win turns into a negative headline against us. This way, he gets a nice little soundbite and we're not the bad guys for once.

I think it was clear the atmosphere was way over the top and moved Into the 'poison' category and when objects are thrown to your players the line has been crossed. Good to see QPR have acted on it threatening bans for those supporters. He's had more pops at our fans this season than the fans who threw objects and abuse at out players. Quite agree he should've had a go. Can't have everything though.
April 13, 201511 yr City hopefully back in their box. Often think they're the road not taken. Always the second team in their own city, fans who don't even support their team... f**k knows where they go from here if Pep isn't available. Pep wouldn't be cut out for it anyway.
April 13, 201511 yr Van Gaal has authorized a possession heavy system for us. At Madrid and at Benfica, he was part of a system that was all about utilizing counter attacks with fast pace, driving at the opposition. At United he is required to be more methodical and patient with our philosophy. I'm sure he'll be able to come through, as the best players do, now is the time he needs to listen and follow what the manager says, Young has done this and is thriving at the moment. So as I say, it's more about if he can adapt, he'll come good. Hopefully he'll be key for us next season but at the moment we've got a good squad in great form and there's no need for us to change anything. Our defence despite not being big in value or name is quite underrated. We've got one of the best defensive records in the league this season but I'm sure we'll look to improve that even further, lots of rumours circulating about Hummels, who again adds to the ball-playing possession system. Jones and Smalling have looked very good under Van Gaal, Rojo has settled in nicely as well. Guess you could splash the cash on a top center back but they are doing very well as it is. Think right back is the main concern defensively, Valencia has done a good job there but his positioning is dreadful. If it wasn't for his pace and strength he would get caught out a lot more often.
April 13, 201511 yr Out went the experience Evra and Vidic in defence and the main reinforcement was an eighteen year old with no experience of playing at the highest level. I called it before the season even started that the 3 man defence, wing back system was doomed for failure especially as it didn't seem to play to the strengths of the players at the club... Mainly, you don't have one world class centre back, let alone three. Completely agree with that point, yeah. Losing Vidic, Ferdinand and Evra in the same season and only signing Rojo (based on a good world cup) and Blind as a holding midfielder, only to now be played as a left back was quite naive and reckless. I think Shaw will come good, he's got youth on his side and will be an investment for a decade. Just needs to get a good run of games going and continue the form he was at Southampton that got him in the PFA Team of the Year. With huge credit to De Gea who to some respect was covering over some of the cracks, defensively we haven't been too bad, Smalling for me has stepped up and is a fan favourite on our forums but it's clear we aren't stable as the European elite sides. Hoping for some investment there in the Summer window and perhaps we can go onwards to complete for the Title next season. Who knows. Edited April 13, 201511 yr by Juan Matas Beard

April 13, 201511 yr You'd think with all the commemorating they do, they'd invest in some proper black armbands. Brilliant.

April 13, 201511 yr I can't understand why everyone including the Newcastle players have to wait three minutes while they play that stupid f**king song.
April 13, 201511 yr I can't understand why everyone including the Newcastle players have to wait three minutes while they play that stupid f**king song. You don't understand? You will not. It's a sense of grief that transcends football, etc, etc... Radio Five said 'the song is especially poignant this evening as...' blah, blah.
April 13, 201511 yr Jesus christ paddy power... Oh my, they are going to get some for that, but I have to say I roared
