Did BR mention the players played with commitment and energy, only to fail because the weight of the shirt?

Ha! Weight of the shirt, love it!

Is it a two leg tie though? If so and Celtic progress at home then I have no doubt they'll have shown character, heart, passion and that there is no reason why they can't go all the way. When on form they're equal to the likes of Madrid, Bayern etc.

How do the Lincoln Red Imps (love the name btw) even get a Champions League spot?

I don't know if that was sarcastic, but didn't they beat Barcelona not too long ago?

They may have done but I wouldn't say that makes them equal in quality.

That side are probably no better than my home team here in Cornwall, for Celtic to lose to them IS embarrassing, no matter what Brendan Rodgers says.

I've just been to 5 a side and we've decided to ask Celtic for a preening season friendly. There will obviously only be ten in our team,

but to even things up fat Gary our left back will play for Celtic.

Oh I didn't mean to imply that they are as good, and I admit that I communicated that poorly. I meant that on their best lucky day they can beat the best in the world, so it's especially weird that they can't even beat the Lincoln Red Imps. That's like us losing to a Conference side in the FA Cup.

RE: a 1-1 draw against Astana

"It was an outstanding result. We're disappointed with the goal but I think after that we showed wonderful mentality to keep fighting. It's a very important result for us."

"I think we were all written off before the game. Everyone was pretty clear in their opinion of the game, that we would do well to come back with anything other than a loss, but the players deserve an immense amount of credit, to fight and show spirit and passion in the game."

"The resilience and strength that we have built up over the course of the pre-season came into effect."

I kid you not: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36909747

While I found him thoroughly irritating while he was Liverpool manager, I don't think he deserves quite as much mockery as he gets on here (especially considering his past with us), but I did have a bit of a chuckle at those comments. Especially considering this was against a side with such an illustrious history that their entire European record (i.e. every match) is listed on their Wikipedia page.

Then again, they do have a player called 'sh*tov' so maybe I'm too quick to judge.
