The current Celtic team would, but in the PL they would have the tv deals, attract higher sponsorship and would have a massive budget to improve the team. Top player's would go there and Rangers if both were in the PL.

He's talking about his current team though.....

I find this Rodgers bashing tedious and question the motivation of some people. He has no quarrel with this club as best I know and did well as an under age manager here for some time. What gives?

I for one will always remember his post match comments after we mugged them 2-0 at Anfield in the 'don't let it slip' season.

'Parked two buses' blah de blah, he was so salty Saxa were trying to buy shares in him.

Tried to knock us when in reality he had been schooled by Jose.

So...there's your starter for 10....

His persistent defence of Chewy Suarez in face of the inescapable truth about that player's behaviour is another.

At Liverpool particularly he became a parody of a football manager with a repertoire filled with cliché

Basically he is funny.

Let me refresh your memory.

Basically, he talks so much sh*te and it's funny to take the piss. I don't really know how you can find it tedious, he barely get's any attention these days now that he is at Celtic. This thread has only moved 1 page in the last 8 months.

The man is a Grade A buffoon. He is a parody of himself.

He's also managed the 2 Biggest Irish teams going in VictimPool and Septic. Horrible Fenian  bar stewards.

There we have it!

Joe Cole played for Liverpool ( a bigger club than Chelsea comment!)
Carlo Cudicini played for Spurs and now he's back with Chelsea
Gallas, Cech etc etc. but I don't detect the same ire directed against them.

Of course he was upset when he was so close to getting the title. What do you think Mourinho's attitude would be?

If he talks a lot of sh*te then I think he would fit in with over 90% of football managers.

He's said that the Liverpool reporter pretty much put those words in his mouth in his interview when he signed.

Joe Cole pretty much exposed Liverpool after he left them. Every new player is told to say they are playing for the best club with the best history.

He did, did did he? [emoji857][emoji857][emoji857]

Asked if he was interested in the Chelsea job just a little while before taking over Liverfool, he stated " I am trying to build a career, not wreck it"    NUMPTIE.

From a widely reported interview with Joe Cole in 2013. Google it.

Cole believes the mentality at Liverpool made it difficult for him to settle in, with their insistence on being known as the "biggest club in the country" catching him off guard.

"When I joined, the guy interviewing me said 'you've joined the biggest club in the country' and reeled off the trophies they'd won," he said. "I just said 'yeah, if you put it like that, I suppose you're right' and Liverpool used that as the headline to the interview.

"I didn't want to upset anyone so I just went along with it. But obviously they're not the biggest club in the country any more. How do you judge how big a club are? Nottingham Forest won the European Cup twice but they're not a bigger club than Chelsea."

I don't doubt the denial, I do question the motivation. Brendan Rodgers made no such declarations and fought his corner against Jose the Miserable. There was no one happier than myself when we scuppered their opportunity.

And I for one will always remember that some chelsea fans touted him as a future chelsea coach when he got the swansea job. Talked him up big time as I recall

To be fair that is because he had come through the Chelsea coaching system and was quite well thought of. The same can since be said of Dermot Drummy, Adi Viveash, Joe Edwards and now Jody Morris.
