I suppose he could go for the Villa job when (if?) that arises, although the squad is pretty ill-fitting for how Rodgers likes to play.

Villa may be seen as a step down from Liverpool, yes.  But I also think that the Liverpool job was too big for Rodger in the first place.  Maybe Villa are his level (as was Swansea?)

Id love to see him at Newcastle, we can all learn about how big a club they are and how passionate their fans are. Not to mention Rodgers interacting with Geordies on a regular basis

Joking aside, I think Rodgers would be advised to steer clear of Villa. It's a hard club to manage and what's success? Staying up?
