Cuadrado - Chelsea's #23

Featured Replies

I am actually a little surprised we fell into the trap with him, he lit up the World Cup and a poor Italian league.

Bit like Pogba eh?

Now that Juan is out the door officially, who's the worst player at the club?

Marin even worse !

Another shocking signing ...

Marin might have been worse (I dont agree but whatever) but Cuadrado was 4x more expensive. Let that sink in. Somehow we paid 26 million for a player whos best attribute was tripping over his own feet

In today's episode of strange but true... Worst ever Chelsea winger Juan Cruddrado has received a hero's welcome on his arrival to Italy.

Based on these events I think it's safe to say they do not broadcast Premier League matches in Italy and Juventus have put out some North Korea styled propaganda about the signing.

The bianconeri faithful must be expecting Messi Mark II but all they'll get is Messy wing play.

Problem is, we're probably going to be stuck with another Marin situation, where we have to loan him out every year because no-one wants to buy him.

You know what they say...

Do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Tbh I'm really happy with the situation we get a sizable loan fee if he has a decent season we get the majority of our money back and if he plays well well we get our money back a maybe even a little extra and if he starts playing like he did in the season of the world cup he might even come back to our starting 11, unlikely I know but give a man some confidence and he will look like a completely different player.

and lets not talk about if he flops but if thats the case I'm sure we can sell him to turkey for a few dollar.

I still don't feel he was ever given a proper chance to show what he can do. It's a shame but it happens.

I too had this view until the start of the new season. I have long defended Cuadrado on here especially last season but when the opportunity arrived he showed nothing other than looking nervous and overawed by playing for us.

I accept he didn’t start many games and was more often than not used at a 60-80 minute sub when we are looking for a goal or some creativity but in all of those cameos bar 1 game at the end of the season he was dire. This season has been the exact same, he was terrible in pre season (The one I kept suggesting he needed DOH!) and that continued on for the past few weeks.

At a big club like this passengers will not be tolerated (unless your name is Ivanovic) so you have to make the most of the chances you are given, look at Pedro on Sunday! He gave his all and basically laid down a marker saying unless you can do better this is my place in the team…Cuadrado never once done than in nearly 8 months…Pedro done it in 45 minutes.

It’s a shame for both parties but he looks like a fish out of water in English football and we could play him match after match and I get the impression he’d be as much of a flop as he has already been.

I wish him well at Juve and hopefully he settles back into the Italian game and we can recoup as much of the fee as we can because he has no future here.

If he resumes playing really well again for Juventus I will be so utterly confused that I might give up trying to understand football and take up the more simple past-time of the light reading of doctoral astrophysics theses.

He knows that league, he has experience and played there already, I won't be surprised to see him shining again.

Regardless of the relative difficulty of the league and his familiarity with it, it doesn't explain why he wasn't capable of even basic ball control while playing for us yet is a superstar over there.

Difference been Pogba has lit up the Champions League.

Ermm Mikel..... Runs away and hides

Paul Pogba:

UEFA Champions League Runners-up: 2014–15

John Obi Mikel:

UEFA Champions League (1): 2011–12

In all seriousness... there are three players in the first team who haven't even made a senior appearance yet, we should probably wait and see.

Problem is, we're probably going to be stuck with another Marin situation, where we have to loan him out every year because no-one wants to buy him.

who cares

not our money that was spent to acquire him, so as long as he isn't in our squad taking up a space that could otherwise be utilised to accommodate an overseas head who actually has some talent, then none of us should give a monkey's chuff about the transfer fee.

its a sunk cost, and it aint our money. he's gone, party time.
