August 25, 201510 yr 'On his arrival in Turin, Cuadrado was greated by awaiting fans...' Imagine going to the airport to see Juan Cuadrado; who the feck has got time for that nonsense?!
August 25, 201510 yr Regardless of the relative difficulty of the league and his familiarity with it, it doesn't explain why he wasn't capable of even basic ball control while playing for us yet is a superstar over there. Maybe this was all a beautiful ploy to get Cuadrado from Fiorentina to Juve. We have facilitated Juve who might not have wanted to deal with Fiorentina and either have their offer declined or significantly marked up. Our fee? The opportunity to bid for Pogba, guided by Juve to exactly how much they will take for him. How's that for a conspiracy?

We have facilitated Juve who might not have wanted to deal with Fiorentina and either have their offer declined or significantly marked up. Our fee? The opportunity to bid for Pogba, guided by Juve to exactly how much they will take for him. How's that for a conspiracy? Funnily enough - saw someone tweet something similar to this the other week. The theory being: Juve and Fiorentina do not deal with each other, at all due to a strong hate for one another - so what if Chelsea deliberately signed a player that they knew Juventus were interested in from Fiorentina, only to sell him to Juventus at a later time and in doing so strengthening our stature in any negotiations to sign Pogba. Seems very outlandish - but it's crazy enough to work in the modern game where football is governed by businessmen.

August 25, 201510 yr Well. That was the definition of a flop. File alongside the likes of Salah and Marin.
August 25, 201510 yr good riddance. just a shame we couldnt arrange to have him shifted off the books permanently. read on bbc sport that the fee we paid was £23.3m. absolutely astonished that he was ever considered value for money, and as a previous poster highlighted, its hard to know whether this was a jose or a board signing. dont want to be overly unfair on the boy, so will leave it by saying that sometimes these things just dont work out. oh and he's sh1te.
August 25, 201510 yr Yeah, turned out to be a poor transfer. But we've nipped it in the bud. Let's all hope he has a good season at Juventus so that we can move him on permanently next summer. Edited August 25, 201510 yr by Hazardous
August 25, 201510 yr I too had this view until the start of the new season. I have long defended Cuadrado on here especially last season but when the opportunity arrived he showed nothing other than looking nervous and overawed by playing for us. I accept he didn’t start many games and was more often than not used at a 60-80 minute sub when we are looking for a goal or some creativity but in all of those cameos bar 1 game at the end of the season he was dire. This season has been the exact same, he was terrible in pre season (The one I kept suggesting he needed DOH!) and that continued on for the past few weeks. At a big club like this passengers will not be tolerated (unless your name is Ivanovic) so you have to make the most of the chances you are given, look at Pedro on Sunday! He gave his all and basically laid down a marker saying unless you can do better this is my place in the team…Cuadrado never once done than in nearly 8 months…Pedro done it in 45 minutes. It’s a shame for both parties but he looks like a fish out of water in English football and we could play him match after match and I get the impression he’d be as much of a flop as he has already been. I wish him well at Juve and hopefully he settles back into the Italian game and we can recoup as much of the fee as we can because he has no future here. Took the words out of my mouth
August 25, 201510 yr Good luck to him, He showed nothing in the games he did get, not even flashes so I don't buy the argument that given time he would have showed his worth. It seemed to be a bit of a panic buy if I'm honest. Hope he has a good season at Juve anyway as we want to get a good price for him.
August 25, 201510 yr What's that, the visitors book? I was wondering about that thick book. Gotta ask a Juve fan.
August 25, 201510 yr It happens sometimes. Remember Ambrosetti? Was billed as the Italian Ryan Giggs when we brought him but often fell over if it was windy and generally played like his boots were on the wrong way round.
August 25, 201510 yr Was always against his signing, as he looked terrible before he joined us as well. And whilst I hate to say I told you so......actually what am I saying.. I love saying I told you so, it's one of life's great joys.
August 25, 201510 yr File alongside the likes of Salah and Marin. None can challenge the throne of King Nando. There can only be one.
August 25, 201510 yr was brought in to shore up the squad after andres depature....23 million jesus ..a complete waste of money ...
August 25, 201510 yr Is it conceivable that we signed Cuadrado as part of an elaborate plan to sign Pogba? Edited August 25, 201510 yr by the special one
August 25, 201510 yr 'kin hell, gone like the wind... didnt think he'd be gone so soon.. but pedro be like...
