He did a double handed bye bye wave to the fans when he was taken off, looks like he is definitely heading this summer Yap, he's gone... if we are smart we will buy before the deal becomes public knowledge, I would be closing that morata deal now. Hope we go no where near Lukaku, and give michy his chance
May 22, 20179 yr Author Well he's made this his new Instagram profile picture. I think he'll still be here next season...
May 22, 20179 yr A kiss farewell perhaps? I'd like him to stay personally, I still don't see Morata or Lukaku as being better options but I can't see anything other than a big move to China especially since he's been pictured with agents and the Chinese clubs reps. Whatever happens he's played a huge part in our recent 2 title wins so will leave with nothing but thanks and pride.
May 22, 20179 yr I think he was definitely waving goodbye. When you see terrys reception and send off yesterday, I think it might put in some players heads, the importance of building a legacy at one club though. Not so much costa, but I'd like to think the likes of hazard and courtois were affected by it. You don't get that much love and respect changing clubs every 4 years. It was a real pity we didn't get it right with lamps, ash, joe, and cech, who all left with little fanfare. Il miss costa's goals, but I won't miss the faux hard man act, and I think he is more replaceable than some would have you think. Hopefully we absolutely rinse China.

Don't see many players following that lead at all tbh. Too much money in football with bigger deals offered to top players elsewhere, plus foreign players who have no ties to us or London won't get that bond like JT did. The top players want to conquer the top leagues it seems not hang around in one place for a long time.

I think if we remain competitive both on a sporting and financial level, then there's every chance we could keep our best players here for peak years. I agree there's no real loyalty left in football, but there are still players like drogba or Henry that can build such an affiliation with a club, that they would turn down big opportunities to stay and build something at that club.

Henry? He left Arsenal to go win something with Barca and now slates them at every opportunity loool

He could have played for any club in the world during that period, and could have definitely earned more money, but he stayed. Thats as loyal as it gets in modern football.

May 25, 20179 yr I hope not. I was the first to criticize him for ruining so many of our attacks with his bad wooden touches. He doesn`t even bother to fight for air balls. Not remember a single time Costa takes away a ball from enemy player. His passing aren`t great either. So many miss passes by him, and he always put his teammates in pressure when pass. Never it`s in the right place when it`s needed. So many good crosses and Costa is not where is needed. He stay back and doesn`t even bother. Or he make the run, when it`s late and he can`t get the ball. He is always late. He also lacks speed and can`t outrun defenders, so it`s hard to use through passes, cause he can`t catch them .... And for the third season in a row he play between 15-20 matches at top level, then he goes missing and it`s make it harder for the teammates, rather then helping hem. And this season all it`s start with the interest from chinese club. Sorry but i want him to go. I have enough of him. You don`t know when he is going to ruin all. We need new striker, young one, who is hungry for success and trophies. I like him so much, before he destroy everything by himself with the winter sh** he put on us.
May 25, 20179 yr no chance he'll stay, even if the china deal broke down, that goodbye wave was definitely a message to conte and the board that he's done here

Could be, not sure what the message was today when he was grabbing the badge on his shirt when he scored. Looked like he has possibly changed his mind after waving goodbye the other week. We will see in the coming weeks. Edited May 27, 20179 yr by Osgood is Good

May 27, 20179 yr Thought he was the only player to actually make an effort today and turn up. He at least tried to get things going and got his reward.

I actually thought the opposite. He was as bad as Matic in the first half and only got going when he scored. He was also partly responsible for their first goal. Kante was trying to bring the ball out of defence and Costa just got right in his way.
May 27, 20179 yr Well, it's time to cash in imo. Thank you Diego, but I want you on a plane to China soon.
May 27, 20179 yr Scored but he's such a frustrating player. He needs to be an outlet for us who's able to keep the ball when we are under pressure but he's so so erratic with his touches and more often then not he loses the ball inside two seconds after recieving it.
May 27, 20179 yr Time to cash in, we won`t have another chance to take big money for him. Just sell him. Far from Top classes striker. Even Arsenal slow defenders was outrun him, that`s tell a lot. He has wooden touch, lazy for air balls, if not in the mood, we are playing 10 man, and there is always some drama about him. Just sell him and take world class replacement.
May 27, 20179 yr Nah he played well and was the only player trying to make something happen. Hazard, Pedro, Kante, Matic all terrible.
May 27, 20179 yr "I will only leave Chelsea for Atlético. If not, I will stay here. I'm not interested in other clubs. Some very interesting comments from Diego Costa after the game today. Sounds like China is out of the question all of a sudden.
May 27, 20179 yr looks like the china deal broke down because of that new 100% tax rule, sh*t if selling him to atleti means griezman free to go to united then feck it, rather we keep him
