I disagree with Cahill - has been atrocious at times this season and Fonte IMO deserves it more for being the bedrock in a high-performing Southampton defence.

 

Ivanovic is debatable; I would have marginally selected Clyne over him.

 

I would have selected Azpi over Bertrand. 

 

Coutinho over Fabregas? FFS. 

 

De Gea just about deserves it, though Courtois' inclusion would have been fair too. 

 

Aguero slightly unlucky, though no problems with selecting Costa ahead of him. Costa's goals have been crucial.

Who deserves to beat Ivanovic for right back then? Besides Clyne can't really think. For me Ivanovic and Zabaleta are the best RB's in the league, but Zabaleta has made even more defensive mistakes than Ivanovic this season he has had a poor season just like all City back 4 has. 

 

Ivanovic deserves it, he might be the weakest part of our defence but my god not only has he done some good defending (which goes unnoticed) but he contributes massively to the attack, he has just been as indispensable as Fabregas and Hazard have been going foreward in my honest opinion.

I think Cahill was lucky to be included ahead of the Southampton centre backs who have been sublime this season. 

 

Cahill had a wobble during the middle of the season that Zouma step into the side but I guess it just shows that the timing of the voting has a large say in who is included which is the only explanation for Courtinho's inclusion who's had maybe 2 decent months out of the whole season. 

 

Dave unlucky not to be included but I won't begrudge Bertrand's place. To me that highlights how ridiculous it was that Hodgson called up Shaw, Baines, Rose and Gibbs ahead of him this season.

He the best left back in the league by some distance, it's no fluke he's a major part of the best defence in the league either.

the bizarre thing is though, the vote would have taken place as cahill was struggling...that's why cesc isn't in the team despite being king of assists...as for ryan, i'm happy for him - wonder if jose has any regrets?
