Despite the regular first team football he has played I don't think Lukaku has progressed as much as he could or maybe should have since the WBA loan.

On his day he's a very difficult striker to play against but the dominating performances just don't seem to be often enough, really needs to be a lot more consistent if he's going to take his game up a level.

Right now I don't think any of the big boys would be looking to bring him in.

^^^ this.

Stagnated as predicted. He's not the player we need and we received stupid money for an overrated diddy and I'm glad we sold him.

How has he stagnated? Aren't we judging forwards by goals scored anymore? He is 22 and has scored 17, 15, and 10 pl goals in the three previous seasons, and currently has 4 goals in 7 games this season. I don't think you can expect him to do more at that age. Everton is not exactly blessed with a great supply line, so he has been brilliant if you ask me.

His scoring record is decent but in terms of a rounded footballer he's distinctly average.

His touch is awful, he can rarely dribble with the ball and too often he drifts out of games.

He's not good enough to play for a top team yet, that's the long and short of it.

He's goal scoring record has gradually got worse in Premier League, in fact "just" 10 goals in 36 appearances was pretty bad for a player who cost almost £30m.

It was goals in the early stages of the Europa League that padded out his numbers last year but over all I don't think it's harsh to say it was a disappointing season for him.

4 goals so far this season is a big improvement but like I said I think he needs to become more consistent with his goal scoring rather than having little purple patches, that's what he needs to take his game up a level.

I think he's still got a lot to improve upon, his first touch is pretty bad for example. I think it's a big season for him, it's his 4th season playing 1st season football, so he'll probably be looking to looking to round off his game a bit more now.

English teams again losing in Europe... United, Arsenal and City last time and (so far) Chelsea and Arsenal.

I can't even explain why we aren't doing well year after year.

Intensity of the league? Fixtures? Lack of English blood?

I'm a firm believer, that English players, playing for English teams, give the club identity and that added passion. We're missing that.

It is very hard to understand. There's no way (in theory) that Olympiakos should be beating Arsenal. It's good for the game that they can beat the Gooners but Arsenal should be too good for them.

You and I are not here to WUM Chelsea so I will add that Chelsea's form is hard to understand. I can see what's going wrong but I don't know why.

Yep. Tbh, it's now our Europeans playing their Europeans. We used to mix things up by taking our game to Europe.

I personally think it's the style. I look at European football and i think it's quicker, more skillful and the movement of players is so much better than English football right now. I think the game has changed in recent years, but English football has stood still.

The quality of the Premier League seems to be dipping more and more with every season as well. I watch the football, i see some enjoyable games, but i'm not seeing a lot of quality. Most goals come from pretty sh*t defending or scruffy football to be honest.

Italy lost a team in the Champions League Qualifying stage, so we may get lucky this season and hold on to a European spot, but sooner or later we are going to lose one if things don't improve very quickly.

Regardless of how bad we do this season, next season we'll still have a champions league spot.

Not sure about that. Barca, Madrid and Munich usually only have 3 or 4 compatriots in their starting lineup

edit: also, what Englishmen could we add to out starting lineup to add passion and identity? Delph? Vardy? Shelvey? Jagielka? not good enough for us

Piers Morgan flip flopping now wanting wenger sacked and Klopp in lol

Rightly so.

If I were also born with webbed feet and 11 fingers, I'd also support Araenal and want rid of Wenger. He's a dinosaur and the longer he remains in charge, the better.

Arsenal play Bayern twice next, imagine them having 0 points after 4 games. Too bad I can't enjoy it much given our form and the danger of losing the 4th spot.

Wow that would be incredible if Arsenal lost both matches and was 0 points after 4 games.

It's a strange one with Arsenal, they didn't really anyone but they're squad is still good but they're struggling.

I don't understand Wenger. I really don't.
