Using that logic we never really need to strengthen any position as we have a lot of options everywere. Azpi is playing LB just fine, Aké has played LB, Ivan can play there in a pinch, Zouma can play right back. We have lots of option for a position we almost never rotate.

People are talking about the RW position because its a weakspot and it has been for years, at this moment its the only position were we dont have a certified starter and we are forced to use someone out of position to deal with it.

Azpil is more than fine playing there, I'm not questioning that - he has made it his own. But if he got injured then it would be worrying, no way would I want Ivanovic playing there, 1 that would take away from his attacking emphasis down the right, 2 his positional play is often questionable at RB, and LB I fear it would be worse. Ake I wouldn't mind but it seems like he could follow Christensen and Omeruo out of the club on loan.

At RW I would be fine playing Willian, Oscar, Cuadrado or Ramires there, I'd trust Ramires at RW more than DM. I also wouldn't mind Remy there either. The point is there is enough bodies to cover RW, but not enough to cover more than one injury in defence.

Ideal world would be Griezmann, Stones and Baba - my favourite player outside of the Bridge is Lucas of PSG and he would be amazing in the Prem.

I can but dream I guess.

I have been one of the less keen people to sign Pedro, but I can admit I would like to see some players coming when I look around at the other clubs making moves in the market.

But they are options.

Options for RW - Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Cuadrado, Salah, Moses, Traore, Ramires - hell, even Remy.

Options for LB - Azpilicueta (who is more natural at RB!)

I don't know why everyone is kicking up a fuss when other areas need strengthening more. Would another attacker be nice? Sure. Is it a necessity? Nope.

Yes, it's a necessity. Apart from Hazard, none of those players is a legitimate goal threat or a great creative outlet. Oscar is inconsistent, Willian is a hard worker with little end product, Traore is unproven at the top level and Cuadrado is crap. Ramires is neither a winger nor an attacking midfielder, he's just being occasionally used on the wing for tactical purposes and due to his work rate, but he offers little going forward.

Pedro is being heavily linked with United now. How did we lose out on him? Did we just pull out as we identified other targets?

Yeah, I wouldn't be happy if United picked him up.  I think he would be a great signing for us, but Mourinho seems to think we don't need anyone, unless someone leaves, so it's unlikely we will get him at this stage, which is a shame.

And neither of then are any good when stuck on the wings. Especially Oscar. They are both much better centrally

Oscar is great at right wing, played well for us there from what I can remember and plays there for Brazil when he's not in the middle.

What other avaiable targets are there?

I agree with you here, alot of people think we can just put Remy, Ramires, Oscar etc in a winger position and think it won't hurt our attacking play. Oscar  as an example has 18 succsessful take ons last season, Hazard has 180...

My only hope is we may be going after Griezmann later, because missing out on a 22m deal for someone like Pedro is criminal.

I doubt we have are willing to pay his release clause + taxes ontop of that, it might end up costing us more then Sterling did for City.

There could be another option for us if we fail to land Pedro....Jese from Real Madrid. Not a chance he's getting ahead of the likes of Bale, Ronaldo, James and Isco

Very talented and only 22.

Iv'e said it before but there's no way Jose thinks Cuadrado and Moses are Chelsea quality...Jose is a winner, he won't settle for 2nd rate players

How do you know we even want him? Did you read anything about that?

Oscar isn't great anywhere, he's ok in the middle and average on the wing.

I'm amazed he's been Brazil's best player on a regular basis and lasted this long with us then if that's the case.

For what it's worth,I actually like Moses...but there's no way that he'll be in the squad come 1st Sept. He's transfer bait..

This is Mourinho's comments yesterday:

‘Victor is strong, he’s experienced and he knows the Premier League well,’ pointed out the manager turning his thoughts to the winger who impressed at Stoke last term.

‘He’s fast and aggressive. Okay, he has to learn how to play with us but I’m happy with his week and his 45 minutes. Let’s see what happens but Victor had an evolution in the last couple of years.’ http://www.chelseafc.com/news/latest-news/2015/07/mourinho-post-nyrb-.html

Although its not Sept 1 yet, but on that date, I will come back to you again.

Not much chance of signing berardi. He was co owned by juve and sassulo, but due to a change of rules sassulo bought him outright about a month ago.

However from all accounts this is still a co ownership in all but name, and juventus will sign him for a pre arranged fee next summer.

Very very complicated deal to conclude, and although he is a promising player, im not sure he has done enough yet to warrant the hassle it would take to bring him here.

Brazil without Oscar = Life goes on

Brazil without Neymar = Germany 7-1 Brazil

If you think Oscar is more important than Neymar to Brazil then you are insane.

Mikel has lasted 9 seasons with us and he's absolute tripe. Whenever Oscar gets dropped from the team we don't miss him at all if I'm honest. He's a decent player but he's not a world beater and probably never will be, the guy is a workhorse with occasional glimpses of good technique, but this makes him on the same level as James Milner.

Oscar is a lot better than Milner yes Oscar isn't at the same level of Hazard but who in the Prem is and I would say Neymar is on the same level as Hazard so yes Oscar is slightly less influential for Brazil and yes Oscar isn't the best AM in the league but he's not far off and he adds a lot more to a side then just attacking play which has been essential to our success and it says a lot that Mourinho puts him ahead of Mata and KDB. Our game plan and philosophy is what sets us aside from our rivals and Oscar epitomises this ethos, yes it would be nice if him and Willian were more productive with there end product but that in no way means they are in any way bad players.

On Mikel I wouldn't say he's tripe I'm sure he would walk into most BPL teams starting 11's and is the sort of player Arsenal need to take them a step further, saying that he is nowhere near our first team but hes a good squad player. He and Ramires can be upgraded and there is a couple of players in the market that are upgrades but I think the squad is pretty balanced, and bringing in someone as a replacement could upset the apple cart as they are likely to want more game time and unhappy players aren't good to have in the dressing room. Also Mikel and Rami don't really get in the way of our youth development as they can quite easily be displaced if they start playing well.

He is still 23. I don't think it's fair to draw conclusions already on how he will develop as a player. He has moments of brilliance. His problem is that this is not consistent.
