August 13, 201510 yr Isolating yourself and becoming disinterested in things you generally love is not ideal. Sometimes you have to mentally force yourself to get through it. I don't isolate myself really it's just that my interest wanes especially when I have other stuff going on.
August 13, 201510 yr I used to pray that someone would drop a weight on Torres foot at Cobham, that's awful isn't it, I hate getting on our own players backs but I just wanted an easy way to drop our most expensive player.
August 13, 201510 yr I'd like football TV coverage to include a "no commentary option" with just the ambient sound of the crowd (so I don't have to listen to the inane twaddle). They did that at the World Cup and it was magical, I'd happily pay for that option and it can't be bloody hard to do. I watch games on mute.

(Please don't ban me) Only because he wouldnt have to carry the team. Replace Messi or whoever on Bayern with him and hes just as good as them Edited August 30, 201510 yr by TheChelseaBlues

August 30, 201510 yr Be pretty hard to be twice as good as he was last season. Twice as good would be pushing it but i think there is still a lot to his game that Hazard can improve on. I think he is too laid back as a footballer, he needs to go for the kill more often. He says he want's to be world player of the year one day, but so does everyone else. You have to give your all to reach that goal and i don't think he is always giving everything in every game, i often think there are times where he could do more.
August 30, 201510 yr Author Twice as good was hyperbole on my part, but I do think that he isn't getting the guidance he needs to reach his maximum potential.

I completley agree, i think playing behind Costa instead of playing on the left would help him score more goals.
August 30, 201510 yr Twice as good was hyperbole on my part, but I do think that he isn't getting the guidance he needs to reach his maximum potential. Sometimes i feel a bit sorry for Hazard, i feel like he deserves to play with better players. The likes of Oscar Willian etc just aren't on his level.
August 31, 201510 yr I think we as Chelsea fans overrate Hazard above his actual level. It's not even likely that Pep will bring the best out of players, Gotze as an example who has been in poor form for a while now. It's quite clear the players themselves have to work hard and deliver consistently. Hazard has proven nothing in the CL 2 seasons in, arguably the biggest stage in the world. Alright, he basically carried this team the latter half of last season, credit to him, but so what? What does that really prove? Just because he scored a few goals against teams like Hull City , does it mean he's on the same stage as players like Neymar, James, Muller, Reus? Neymar was absolutely brilliant last season, and this was after coming off a terrible back injury that could have effectively left him paralyzed for life had Juan Zuniga's knee been a few more inches to the right. Hazard needs to take note from players like Neymar. You could say that Neymar has Messi on his side, and Hazard has players like Willian and Ramires, but so what? Neymar still has to work hard for that Barca side, pressing opposing defenders all over the pitch, and delivering at the moments when it counts. Look at Reus, a key player that delivers consistently for Dortmund -- a natural born winner. Americans use the term "clutch" to describe sport stars that can deliver the goods when it matters the most, for instance Stephen Curry coming up big against the Cavs, or Drogba scoring against Bayern at the death. Players that can perform under the worst pressure, keep cool heads, and lead their teams to victories. I have to say I'm not even sure if Hazard is any better than Griezmann. From what I've seen these past few matches we've played this season, Hazard doesn't have the ice-cold mentaility of wanting to become the absolute best, traits displayed by Ronaldo. He is just too casual sometimes. If you want something, you can't just sit and wait, you have to thoroughly put in the work. He has to be absolutely ruthless in becoming the best. He can't just throw his hands up and saw f**k it, I have to play with Willian and Ramires and Crystal Palace are destroying my rhythm. That kind of attitude he displayed this weekend shouldn't even fly. Honestly, this is a very big season for Hazard. Of course he will need help from his teammates, but he has to show that he's not overrated on the European stage. He has to show that he can deliver for us on the biggest stage against the biggest players.
August 31, 201510 yr I used to pray that someone would drop a weight on Torres foot at Cobham, that's awful isn't it, I hate getting on our own players backs but I just wanted an easy way to drop our most expensive player. I always found it interesting how Torres was rarely injured for us even though he was pretty injury prone at Liverpool. Wonder if we just used better methods to take care of him.

It's quite clear the players themselves have to work hard and deliver consistently.I don't think fans overrate him. He is more gifted than any single player in this league, in fact, in most leagues. If you look at a number of players in the top bracket, he can do everything they can do, plus things they can't. What fans have to manage though, are their expectations. He simply does not have the drive of Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez etc. That will to change a game consistently. By all accounts he is an easy going guy, who used to be a poor trainer, but now probably just about does enough. He takes our penalties, and he's great, but never practices it. That tells you all you need to know about his character. And he actually wasn't great in the last half of the season. Willian took over as our best outlet from about Feb. He has disappointed more than anyone this season. I expect some of the players to play badly. But he should be held to a higher standard. Edited August 31, 201510 yr by venom2011
August 31, 201510 yr Two more confessions for this thread, I think Willian is severely overrated, he would not be in my starting eleven, we sold Kalou too early, not a great player, but versatile and consistent. I think selling Schurlle was a harsh, rash and stupid decision, we sold Schurlle and brought in a player who's now on loan at Juventus, terrible piece of business. August 31, 201510 yr I don't like sitting in the MHS, only the Shed Lower, everywhere else pisses me off.
August 31, 201510 yr I prefer the shed too. Whenever im in mhl I always get restricted view. Atmosphere is good but you just as well listern to it on the radio atleast you have commentary.

September 8, 201510 yr I actually care more about tonights Spain game than the England one I wanted San Marino to win against England *hangs head in shame*
September 8, 201510 yr ohh how boring the qualifiers can be, our place in the Euro's was pretty much guaranteed when the group was announced
September 8, 201510 yr I wanted San Marino to win against England *hangs head in shame* I take your confession and raise you one. I hate watching England play, literally sucks the life force out my soul every time I do. We are embarrassing to watch IMO.
September 8, 201510 yr England are pretty useless, but I can't understand wanting any other team to beat them, I'd back England in a game of monopoly. Not a lot of people seem to care about the team anymore though. Edited September 8, 201510 yr by Floyd25
