Can't see us winning unfortunately. Many of our players carried their poor form throughout the international break, and still have some injuries. Can't see some magic turnaround in performance. We also play really lethargically after long breaks.

I'm confident we are going to win this however vital we get the opening goal(s) on them  much like last season's match at Goodison

Can't see us winning this. Just can't. Everton was excellent against City apart from 2 defensive lapses. We were lot worse facing them. I'm hoping for a draw and dreaming of a win.

Season HAS to start now, starting with Everton tomorrow.

If the usual players and formation stays, Everton will win this 3-1.

If one or more out of form players (especially Ivanovic) are dropped for this match, then it's a 1-1 draw.

People have been saying Baba wasn't that great defensively, people have only seen youtube highlights and so on, well here are some stats to verify teh rather nice youtube compilations:  The 21-year-old made the most tackles in last season's Bundesliga (109), while attaining averages of 0.8 key passes and 1.4 dribbles per game to earn a WhoScored.com rating of 7.37. In comparison, Azpilicueta offered 0.6 key passes and just 0.3 dribbles per game for the Blues last season.

Yeah I think that was some of the 'can't drop Ivanovic brigade' in the hope that the pliant credulous posters would hop on board.

I'm excited to see Baba play. Baba and Dace could be our mainstay for a very long time.

Although i completely agree that ivanovic has had a bad start to this season,i dont feel the game is lost if he plays today,this is a team game,as with terry, ivanovic could do with some protection,we need all the team on the same note,and a fiery battle today could just do the trick[emoji108]

I kind of want us to embarrass john stones today and make him look amateur.

Tbh I really don't see many changes today as I think he will save changing things up until we play tel aviv on Wednesday

I'm oddly resigned to any result myself, but why take it out on Stones? Making Martinez look like an amateur feels much better :-)

The good thing about a Saturday 12:45 KO is that I can wake up in the morning and my weekend is immediately CHELSEA CHELSEA CHELSEA~!

 

Historically I've been accepting of a draw in this fixture...I'm going to try and keep that in mind and not get despondent about our season if things don't go our way.

 

With that said, let's get this done! 2-1 to Chelsea. ;)

It really doesnt, it makes the complete opposite of sense.. All of Oscars best attributes are best utilized higher up the pitch. His knack for getting into scoring oppurtunities and his ability to press defenders. He doesnt have the passing ability to control the ball from deep, we would struggle getting the ball out from defense and would basically hoof it up a lot more then we do now. Pointless really

Not confident, but hoping we nick a bit nil.

Finally this day has arrived! We need this win to gain more confidence, motivation and the most important thing is our best form.
