Chelsea vs. Maccabi Tel-Aviv (CL) 16/09/15 KO 19:45 BST

If you watched him against Palace and thought he was garbage then you're a complete idiot.

Ah its the classic arguing technique: 'if you dont agree with me then youre an idiot'. You will excuse me if i dont take anything you have to say seriously.

i guess time will tell who was ultimately right.

I've got two out of the last two games correctly. Let's see if I can get a third one in a row.

If there are changes with squad players starting, then I expect a 1-0 win.

If the same old team plays (which I doubt as Mourinho won't consider Maccabi to be heavyweights and would rest his untouchables for the Arsenal match), then it will be a 1-1 draw.

i realize that making logical conclusions, based on empirical evidence looks supernatural to you.

i'm just wondering, once its obvious to anyone that kenedy wont amount to nothing more than being a mediocre player, will you consider me superhuman? am i going to be your god then?

i realize that making conclusions based on 30 minutes of play from a raw undeveloped 19yo is logical to you

and for that i called you a mystic, implying that you possess a rather delusional premature way of thinking (no supernatural things related and oh god no you're definitely not a "superhuman"  :laugh2: sorry to disappoint but hey it's your unique way of thinking)

I think I'd go with

Begovic

Azpilicueta zouma cahill baba

Rlc matic

Pedro oscar hazard

Costa.

Need to play costa and hazard in the hope they pick up some form. Fabregas terry and Ivanovic, have been poor in every game so far.

No-one on this board takes your ridiculous posts seriously so i'm not offended.

Its weird aint it a few yrs ago we could have put any team out and still beat this lot comfortly 3/4-0 now we have a team of superstars and we re worried that we might lose...crazee i know nuthing!!

Will we even win this? I can't say I'm overly confident. However, I understand what people are saying regarding putting out some of the youngsters but if I were Jose I would just put out the strongest eleven. The team that will start against Arsenal desperately needs confidence from somewhere and a comfortable win in the champions league will hopefully do some sort of good for a few players who have started poorly

At the end of this game, we'll be saying, 'that's more like it, this is what we can do'.

Given the relative strength of the opposition, it's to be expected. A good result/performance will hopefully give us a platform to build upon, but my fear is it will just cover up the cracks. Stating the obvious perhaps, but the real test will be in the coming weeks against Arsenal, Newcastle, Porto, and Southampton (and for morale even Walsall just became an important game for us)

Yep, but I think we will notice some moves of old from players and as a team. You know it's odd, but I'm not at all worried about Arsie. Of course I wanted a win against Everton, hoped and hoped, but did feel decidedly jittery in the run up.

Let's hope the cloud has passed.

Except that's not what you have done, not even close. Always funny when someone tries to be clever and just ends up looking a tit.

I decided I could do with a laugh so I actually bought a ticket for this match.

Hoping to see a different team selection entirely and (if they get round to it), a win would be nice?

I think you're in for a good night, but try to avoid any bushes.

Even if we win this game 6-0 it will mean nothing for the arsenal game.

Beating west brom spurred us on to back to back defeats.

What is important is a poor start in the CL could see us heading for the europa league or worse, and anything other than a win will draw links to Rosenberg. Follow that with a loss to arsenal and I can see Roman pulling the trigger, as some have predicted.

Jose is partly to blame for this mess of course. Many of us would have started the season with the same team though. Did anyone expect all of brana, zouma, cahill, Terry, matic, cesc, hazard and Costa to be differing degrees of cr*p in all 5 games?

I guess if the computer draws you at home to Swansea first brace yourself for a shocking start. Hopefully we recover better than United did.

Do we know if Ramires and Oscar are fit for this one?

I know Rami is not the most popular figure here but if he is an option for the game I would like to see him back in the side and us go back to a 4-3-3

Begovic

Azpi

Zouma

Terry

Baba

Matic

Ramires

RLC

Pedro

Oscar

Remy

I would like to see that team, the team I posted on page 1 is what I expect to play. This team gives us width from full back and energy in midfield, with some creativity behind the pace of Remy. It is a more central attacking team but the emphasis would be on Baba and Azpi to go forward on the natural foot to give us width.

If Oscar cannot play move Remy back and put Falcao up top. If Ramires cannot play put Willian in his place.

Again I do not expect this to happen, but think it could work.

^^^ word salad.

'Fans' like you fry my brain. Totally writing off a young player after a couple of substitute appearances. Get a grip of yourself.

He may well amount to nothing but if he's to prove you wrong, he needs support from management and fans - not slated before he's even started.

even for a 19 yr old his ball control isnt good enough. he will fade into obsurity by the next 2-3 years.

How about you take a head start and meet him there. Good chance that won't be the last time you get stood up.

Judging by his selections so far this season, I guess Jose will stick pretty much to the same formula (it's working right?). I could see Baba get a start, but he's more likely to drop Azpi to accommodate that. I think Jose's answer to the poor performance is - I will play you into form, or the day you quit. If Maccabi been watching EPL, they may have a solution to make it a tough game for us.

We have a good place here to kickstart the season. Good performance here and things start to turn around. Jose needs to try an alternative setup for cups and try what could work now that our basic setup wont work.

I get the horrible feeling that our season is about to go from extremely bad to unbelievably worse this week.

We're going to draw this one and get twatted by Arsenal at the Bridge.

I hope to god it doesn't happen this way but if it does Roman will pull the trigger and we'll be giving Jurgen Klopp a call. Just cannot be optimistic at the moment,
