October 4, 201510 yr Mine was the 3-0 loss at City We lost to Crystal Palace on mine 2 years ago which pretty much killed any chance we had of winning the title. Edited October 4, 201510 yr by Scott Harris
October 5, 201510 yr Mine was the 3-0 loss at City Damn, you have to try and quickly put it behind you on birthdays.
October 5, 201510 yr this THIS is what I want to see! You know what, I really like that team. Personally would swap Hazard, Kenedy and Willian around so Willian was in the hole, Hazard on the left and Kenedy on the right or try Traore out there. Pedro has been good in spells but not quite hitting the heights of that first West Brom game but we've hardly played well since then so I'm not too worried. Agree Fab needs a rest and a kick up the arse so that midfield would be good. Matic can get back to doing what he does best plus he would have someone next to him who was mobile, quick and strong in RLC. Have to say I wouldn't mind seeing this as a team: Begovic Dave Terry Zouma Baba Rambo Matic RLC Willian Hazard Costa You would get the creativity from Willian and Hazard plus if they tuck in the full backs can get down that wing. You would have pace and power in midfield, at the expense of some creativity from Fabregas but let's be fair it hasn't been there for a while. The defence would have a lot of pace with Terry there to organise and go back to doing what he does best. Edited October 5, 201510 yr by jdb_thc_cfc
October 5, 201510 yr What I would like to see. Begovic Dave - Zouma - JT - Baba Ramires - RLC Willian - Hazard - Pedro Costa Basically, let's finally address the defence. Dave to move to right back, Ivanovic isn't improving, every team we play is targeting him so let him sit out a few games. Zouma and JT in the middle, we need our captain, simple as. Zouma's been the best performing centre back so far (damning with faint praise I know) so should start. Baba at left back, I'm not buying this "not ready for the Premier League" nonsense from Jose. We have a problem at fullback, use the tools at your disposal to address it and at least try to fix it. Ramires and RLC in the pivot. Ramires has performed well whenever he's played, he's energy is what is need right now. Give Loftus-Cheek a chance, it's not like he's going to perform and worse than Matic or Fabregas have so it's a fantastic opportunity to see what he's made of. Move Hazard behind the striker, give him the freedom of the pitch, let him be as creative as possible. Willian and Pedro out wide, Pedro's directness and willingness to run at players and shoot might benefit from being able to cut inside on his stronger foot like we saw against Walsall. Willian in the team just in case we get any free kicks on the left about yards from goal. Costa back, played well against Porto, need him to start scoring and fast.
October 5, 201510 yr My does that wonderful night seem so so far away right now lol... What my birthday lol what a night what a game and super celebrations. My daughter was born a few hours before our Europa league win just in time for the pub
October 5, 201510 yr Keep changing my mind about what lineup I want. The definite outs are obviously Ivanovic and Fabregas. I would drop Cahill after that appaling performance. Terry wasn't much better, but he has the leadership that Cahill doesn't. No more pivot sh*t. We need one person doing the Makelele, just sitting in front of the back four and nothing else. Don't even go higher than the half way line. With 2 they just pass the responsibility off to each other. Back to the 4-3-3 with the holding midfielder and flying wingers. Begovic Baba Terry Zouma Azpilicueta Matic Loftus-Cheek Oscar Hazard Willian Costa I don't care if Costa nuts someone, I just want us to play with a bit of passion and urgency.
October 5, 201510 yr chelsea v villa, 7 games after lifting the title becomes joses most important ever chelsea match? certainly one of !! who'd of thought eh? f**king funny old game !! im expecting a big performance here to put the wheels back firmly on the track

The defence would have a lot of pace with Terry there to organise and go back to doing what he does best. I think the front 3 behind the striker should be Kenedy (LW) , Hazard (CAM) , Willian (RW) Pedro is not tracking back and lately not scoring I won't include him for now we need Willian more than ever now because of the defensive problems Kenedy is the energy this squad is lacking at Porto and Walsall he ran like crazy he is starving for the goals and game time this is what the squad needs more than anything HUNGRY PLAYERS! Hazard is a ghost I love him but he is not doing a thing on that left wing just walk around and he is not even dribbling at the moment, but in games he has that one minute or two that he does some magic so I'd put him in the middle right near the box so if he does something atleast it will be in a crucial area and not next to the half way line or near the corner flag.
October 5, 201510 yr I don't think he's going to change the system. So the team I want to see is - Begovic, Azpil, Terry, Cahill, Baba, Mikel, RLC, Oscar, Willian, Hazard, Costa. Subs : Blackman, Zouma, Ivan, Ramires, Matic, Falcao, Pedro. I want to see RLC given some security with Mikel playing alongside him. I'd like to see Fabregas get a rest and sit out this one. It won't happen but that's what I'd like to see. Though It would be a nice surprise if he decided to go 2 up top with Falcao, Costa leading the line if he decided to change that is. October 5, 201510 yr International break has come at a good time hopefully we come back refreshed and with a much better attitude. Hope to see RLC in the line up now is as good a time as any.
October 5, 201510 yr If Ivanovic starts, I'm gonna have an aneurysm. Villa have decent fullbacks and pacey wingers, they'll obviously target our flanks like every team has basically done this season -- they'll try to bully us in midfield. Cesc must be dropped for this one. I'd like to see Matic, Oscar, and RLC in midfield. What I hope happens: Ivanovic on the bench, we get a solid 3-0 win. What will happen: Ivanovic and Cesc start once more, Ivan gets turned inside out, Villa score before the half. Somehow we rally back and get an unconvincing 2-1 win.
October 5, 201510 yr I'm trying to find the link but I heard Jose disclose that Baba was not big enough and that would leave us with too many small players on set pieces. If this is the case and Jose said that then why did we spend 21 million on him ? With the International break here its hard to predict a line up for the match against Villa because who knows what players will pick up knocks, etc ... Would like to see Loftus-Cheek in the starting XI though.

October 5, 201510 yr Got a feeling that the only change would be Loftus-Cheek. Seems like Ivanovic is going to play, can't believe it.
October 5, 201510 yr seems to me what we need is for the usual suspects to rediscover their cojones. remember Jose's "big balls" note after we won at Palace this time last year? - well that's what we need to find now, a bit of grit and a bit of fight. they've 2 weeks to sort their heads out, come back and take it to Villa as though none of the last 2 months ever happened.

Would like to see Loftus-Cheek in the starting XI though. In all honesty if Jose Mourinho can't form a squad around two midsize fullbacks (1,78 and 1,79) than that very much puts into question Mourinho's ability to coach as well as his ability to work outside his comfort area / set tactics. There is a dire need to drop Ivanovic, hence he must find a way for Baba and Azpi to work. Beside... its not like both of them are midgets... their are medium height players.
October 5, 201510 yr Ivanovic cannot start this game. At the moment taking a roasting in every game he plays in is sending his confidence in the same direction this seasons results are sending the team. I'd like to see a lineup of Begovic Azpi Zouma Terry Rahman Ramires Mikel Loftus Cheek Willian Hazard Costa Mikel should not be allowed 5 yards past the half way line all game to cover for the marauding Rahman, who should be allowed freedom to get past Hazard to offer us another dimension going forward. The inclusion of Mikel should negate the problem of an exposed JT whilst allowing Rahman to get forward. We have to be at the races from the first whistle to the last. I hope the crowd get behind the team; I'm relying on Diego to get the crowd going for this one. An absolute must win. Edited October 5, 201510 yr by sabin6912
October 5, 201510 yr Since Mourinho insists on playing Ivanovic and Fabregas and with the same inflexible formation, I predict a 1-1 draw against Villa.
October 6, 201510 yr As long as mathematically and potentially Chelsea can stay within touching distance of the clubs competing for 4th- Dippers & Spuds I feel RA will keep him. Of course missing out on KO of CL could also seal his fate but that potential outcome is weeks away. So a must win no, but let's face it lose at home to Villa and another nail goes in the coffin. Anybody expecting Baba in and Dave at RB is gonna be disappointed. Me included but it ain't happened yet and I think as usual Jose making a stand over transfers. Looks like Baba ain't his pick, along with Papy so only expect to see them in domestic cups. Villa are pants so will naturally up their game and with most of the CFC players out in ID I say we need a re think of Philoposy here. Like Jose deciding that whatever worked for the past 15 yrs needs a re think , not a radical one but one to suit this unfortunate situation the club finds itself in. If he's the class coach that history to date as proven he will right the situation with a win then a good trip to the Boleyn ground followed by taking advantage of a rudderless dippers who delusionally think Klopp is their savior. Lol. Edited October 6, 201510 yr by General
