72 Point target

Ahead of Schedule then, come on the Blues.

If we keep this incline up and with everyone seemingly dropping points left right and centre, it could just happen and pigs really could fly.

We are indeed but that game at the Foxes...cannot say I agree with Coco in calling that a win.

If we get 10 points from the next 4 (and really if we cannot beat Bournemouth, Sunderland and Watford at home then...really it is beyond bad) we will have done a good job.

Having said that we are normally garbage at home to Sunderland...so yeah 10 points would be a very good return imo.

At the moment I can't see us finishing Top 6. There is very little actual evidence to expect that kind of run. But, hey the optimist within me says never say never.

I actually don't think if we were to miss out on the champions league and having to to play in the Europa league will be that bad for us next season. It would certainly give a platform for a few of our youngsters to perform, look at what happened at Tottenham and a certain Harry Kane last season. Obviously I would prefer if we made it back to the Champions league but if we were to miss out there is always a bright side.

Really? Does that work for you?

Well I would obviously much prefer to see us go on an epic run or even better win the Champions League, but both are unlikely so if it doesn't happen I'd prefer to give it a positive spin.

Yes I'm feeling a little more confident, just need a good run of wins now, if we play like today in the next 4 games I can see us taking 12 points from 12, Vardy is saving his first blank for us.

We are looking at a 12 points gap to the 4th spot. There are definitely enough games to make up the 13 points. We just got attack, especially at home. A draw right now is bad as as a lose if we want that 4th spot.

Agree. going to leicester with the way they are playing is going to be very tricky. a point would be a useful result.

Next 4 games sees us play

Bournemouth H

Leicester A

Sunderland H

Watford H

We should be picking up a minimum of 10 out of 12 points. that should see us climb back into the top10.

after New years we need to go on a big run and can't afford to lose more games.

In view of Tottenham's prolonged absence from the CL, they should have an entire army of young players that have broken through

Val, I just noticed the picture in your profile... has any one put Carlo on safty watch?

Rest assured, once Begovic is back on the bench, I will revert to my usual Carlo picture. I can't just drop him!

Yes, we get it. You have no faith in the squad and manager, and you think relegation is a definite possibility.

As I said... 40.

I'd like to know what you've been seeing in these games to make you think we are going to climb the table. But feel free to ignore the facts and try and score quick and easy points by having a go at me again.

Top 4 isn't going to happen, top 6 is a long shot. Our situation now is to get away from the bottom 3 as quick as we can- if you'd told me I'd be saying that at the start of the season I would have laughed in your face.

The only good thing that can come of this season is if we somehow put a run together, and pull away from danger by January. Then we can bed in RLC/Traore/A.N. Youngster with no pressure of chasing top 4 or escaping bottom 3. Pigs might fly.

My current prediction for the table after 19 games. Might be rightish / might be way off!

I think top 4 is gone now, Jose pretty much admitted it himself tonight. If we had won tonight, we would be 11 points behind 4th.

Sadly, I think Liverpool will take our CL spot.

So no CL, time to play the kids. RLC, Kennedy and Traore should all start the next game. Lets see what we have

You mean for the Foxes?

Courtios

Brana

Zouma

JT

Azpi

Cesc

Matic

Willian

Oscar

Pedro

Hazard

That is (most likely) what you will have Xfactor.

Top 4 is still on............... but It'll be a miracle.

Us moving clear of the bottle three would be good enough for me, as this group does not have what it takes to go in to those last few games and survive a relegation scrap. Most of them would think someone would just pick them up anyway so would not need to worry about playing in the championship.

13 wins = 39pts

3 draws = 3pts

2 defeats

= possible 42pts to come

Leaves us with a total of 65 pts

MU
Watford(a) tick 2-1 win, Leicester(a) tick 1-1West ham(h) tick 0-0, Bournemouth(a) cross 1-2 loss 3 points down, Norwich (h) cross 1-2 loss 6 points down, Stoke(a) cross 0-2 loss 9 points down, Chelsea(h) tick 0-0, Swansea(h) cross win 2-1 7 points down,

Pld 20 Pts 33 Also 7 points down on there targeted prediction
Newcastle(a), Liverpool(a), Southampton (h), Stoke(h), Chelsea(a), Sunderland(a), Arsenal(h), Watford(h), West brom(a), Crystal Palace(h),Man city(a), Everton(h), Tottenham(a), Aston villa(h), West ham (a), Leicester(h), Norwich(a), Bournemouth(h).
13 wins, 2 draws, 3 loses  41 points +33= 74 points assuming no real slip ups and they find some form really don't expect it to be this high as can't see them winning all those games especially now with the added burden of the Europa league.

Tottenham
West ham(h) cross 4-1 win 2 points up, Chelsea(h) cross 0-0 draw 3 points up, West Brom (a) cross 1-1 draw 1 point up, Newcastle(h) cross 1-2 loss 2 points down, Southampton(a) cross 2-0 win on parNorwich(h) tick 3-0 win, Watford(a) tick 2-1 win, Everton(a) tick 1-1 draw,

Tottenham are the only team that are on par with their results and this shows in the table Pld 20 Pts 36
Leicester(h), Sunderland(h), Crystal Palace(a), Norwich(h), Watford(h), Man city(a)Swansea(h), West ham(a), Arsenal(h), Aston Villa(a), Bournemouth(a)Liverpool(a), Man U (h), Stoke(a), West brom(h), Chelsea(a)Southampton(h), Newcastle(a)
11 wins, 4 draws, 3 loses   37 +36 = 73 points again assuming no real slip ups and no Europa league syndrome

Liverpool
Man City(a) cross 4-1 win 3 points up, Swansea(h) tick 1-0 win, Newcastle(a) cross 0-2 loss on par, West Brom (h) cross draw 2-2 2 points down, Watford(a) cross 0-3 loss 5 points down, Leicester(h) tick 1-0 win, Sunderland(a) tick 1-0 win, West ham (a) cross 0-2 loss 8 ponts down,

8 points down on what I predicted Pld 20 Pts 30
Arsenal(h), Man U(h), Norwich(a), Leiester(a), Sunderland(h), Aston Villa(a), Everton(h), Man City (h), Crystal Palace(a), Chelsea(h),Southampton(h), Tottenham(h), Stoke(h), Bournemouth(a), Newcastle(h), Swansea(a), Watford (h), West Brom(a)

11 wins, 5 draws, 2 loses   37+30=67 points again assuming no slip ups but with the Europa league syndrome and carling cup run legs might tire and as we have just seen hamstrings might pull also they haven't quite got to grips with Klopps methodology, so I don't expect this to be any where near as high.

So again this all says to me that the 72 points total is overly high for this season with unexpected results popping up left right and centre and any team that can get 72 points will have done more than enough to qualify for the CL
However we aren't likely to get close to 72 points and around 65 points probably isn't going to be enough to cut it I'm not going to rule anything out particularly with how the season has gone but I suspect we will finish behind both Tottenham and Man U.
