Well losing to PSG last year meant we could concentrate our small squad on winning the league.

 

Not sure what the benefit of going out early this year would be. Other than allowing us to focus on staying up.

 

They won't fancy playing us though. They only just got through on away goals. 

Another thing is PSG are 17 points clear in their league and it as as good as over and might actually be before the game takes place tbh.

They can afford to rest their players while we have to play our strongest team every game from now till the end of the season.

Tired of getting PSG?  A good team? There's only so many effing teams that perform each year and qualify for the knockout, it's not like they were a 1% of being drawn.

If you want an easy group just to finish top, then you must realise other groups will be tough, leaving a few quality teams to finish second and thus have the possibility of being drawn against us?

Revenge?  It's one a piece over the last two seasons.  Unless you want to go round and round on revenge for the next few?  But then again, you've probably already complained about playing them too much.

We've had a pretty good run of groups and first round knock outs in the last 8 years I'd say... We are not in this competition to make up the numbers, we are in it to win it.  At some point, you're going to have to beat someone good.

the CL needs some kind of reinvigoration. The teams qualifying and the draws are becoming so predicable. I would like to see something different throughout the season or at the end of the season which involves all the league winners into a group and playing each other. So we would have a group such as Barcelona, Bayern, Chelsea, Juventus etc. I don't know exactly, but anyone else think the CL qualifications are getting a bit predictably tedious every year? The teams going through and reaching the 1/4 and 1/2 are rarely ever teams you wouldn't expect.

IMO Champions league should be just that. Champions of each country involved in it.

I understand some great teams would miss out but that's the incentive to actually winning the title. It would never happen because of the money involved but it would really help in closing the gap on say the champions from Sweden when comparing it to the champions of Germany or Spain.

If it continues the way it is then it's obvious its going to be a rinse and repeat job every single season with the rare surprise like Porto popping up every decade or so.

Money means everything in football and because of that things just wont be changing any time soon sadly.

I think you are just trying to poke holes in a great competition here.

With this mentality, we would have changed the whole premier league system a few seasons after it's inception because the same teams were going to keep winning.  

We haven't even played the first round of KO and your tired of seeing great teams play against each other?  Tired of seeing two great teams like Chelsea and PSG play again.. have the previous ties been uneventful for you? Tired of seeing what Kiev could do against Man City.. notorious underperformers in this competition? Tired of seeing the champions of Italy play against the champions of Germany?  Tired of seeing what newcomers Gent can do in their first go at the KO stage?

Gent V Wolfsburg sounds so Europa League. 

It had to be PSG, our season seems scripted.

I am not deluding myself into thinking any team not named Bayern, Barcelona, Madrid (Real), and Chelsea, are winning the thing this year. Don't get me wrong, it's great these smaller sides have qualified, but to expect them to do anything other than make up the numbers is laughable. It is just the same sh*t, different season, however i watch because i want us to win the damn thing every year we compete in it. It has a great prestige to the competition of course, and is still the best trophy a club can win in the world, let alone Europe. The only way the big 3 aren't winning it is if their injury list is long by the time the round of 16 is upon us.

Atleast am happy it's not Juventus as that will get me worried because I won't know what to expect from them. PSG, well I think they will be worried about coming up against Hazard, Willian, Oscar, Costa and Jose.

I think we have the better squad to overcome them. I will only start having doubts if by February Fabregas is still struggling and Jose still play him nonetheless
