December 9, 201510 yr Now that the group is taken care of, who do you want to see in the next round? PSV, PSG, Gent, Roma, Juve and Benfica are our possible opponents. I'd say Gent or Roma would be my first choices. For some reason I think we're likely to get PSG.
December 9, 201510 yr I'm sure everybody want's Gent. I can't believe they finished ahead of Valencia in their group, that's a hell of an achievement.
December 9, 201510 yr Bound to be the annual Paris fixture! I'd like it to be Juve honestly, think that'd be the most exciting outcome.
December 9, 201510 yr Author I kind of want PSV I was thinking some would prefer PSV. Gent could be tricky
December 9, 201510 yr I want Roma. They are a big name, so a big draw. They are not currently a perennial bigwig like Juventus or PSG. They are also not a giant killer like Gent. The other opponents are tough but wont get the same level of respect when we defeat them.
December 9, 201510 yr Why not PSG?!The debt hasn't been settled yet, revenge is a dish best served cold. With Mourinho and how the team is currently playing i'm not afraid, last season we started high then we regressed a bit, now it's different. For me, Champions-League is the top league where you take on the very best teams, kudos to Genk and other teams for qualifying for the knockout stages, but i prefer an European powerhouse early. That's the ultimate battle, for me that's what football is about.I don't want to play against Roma, because of most of their fans, too many knives. Not safe for us...Juve are nasty, they know how to make it dirty and have proven goalscorers like Morata, don't want to take them on.I'm really curious who we'll get. At the moment, just happy about the game.
December 10, 201510 yr You know any of the options is fine by me. Happy we made it. For our Dutch supporters I would say psv or maybe gent for our Belgium blues. Nailed on we get psg again though. Calling that right now. Edited December 10, 201510 yr by axman2526
December 10, 201510 yr I would be happy with gent or Benfica but I have feeling it will be PSG again :)
December 10, 201510 yr I want PSG. If we can't beat them, we won't win the Champions League so we might as well cut to the chase. If we lose, we save ourselves from playing additional matches which will help us in the race for 4th. If we beat PSG, confidence will by sky high and we'll have had to have performed very well, so everything will look good for the rest of our season
December 10, 201510 yr Don't mind any really as in the last 16 no team is easy. Gent are no mugs, they came out of a pretty tough group (Zenit, Valencia, Lyon) which shows that they are no push over. having said that probably get PSG again!

Honestly, I have no preference, none of those teams available are a match to our true potential if we play like one..
December 10, 201510 yr Easiest draw possible please. Beating a big team like psg in the last 16 will set us up no more for confidence in the last 8 than if we beat Gent. We ain't making top 4 so this is our only hope.
December 10, 201510 yr I do not particularly want PSG especially if matic is to miss the first leg of the tie. Juve or roma would be good, but honestly don't think it matters because you gotta beat the best in this competition. Edited December 10, 201510 yr by enigma
December 10, 201510 yr PSV, Gent - Huge favorites Roma, Benfica - Slight favoritesPSG, Juventus - Underdogs Ovbiously hoping for Gent or PSV. Don't believe in the "have to beat the best anyways" talk, just want to go as far as possible even if we get the luckiest draw all the way to San Siro in may.
December 10, 201510 yr Most probably Juventus, then Gent for us. After that come the other clubs with equal chances.
December 10, 201510 yr I was wondering that as well - presumably to do with scheduling or something, which is why I assume us and Arsenal seem to have the most skewed odds (i.e. because we have so many clubs in our city). Also we owe Juve a battering for basically being responsible for us ultimately hiring Benitez.
December 10, 201510 yr Would love to know how stuff like that is calculated. I think it starts with a pub crawl.
December 10, 201510 yr Well, basically Arsenal and Zenit (with Kiew) have the least number of possible opponents. That's why it is most likely that Arsenal and Zenit face each other in the next round, because Kiew can only match a 1st placed team but not Zenit.
