March 17, 201610 yr Author Real Madrid are reportedly planning to offer Chelsea a swap deal involving James Rodriguez as they hope to finally secure the signing of Eden Hazard. The Spanish giants have long been admirers of Hazard but have thus far failed to lure him away from Stamford Bridge despite a disastrous season in the capital. Zinedine Zidane, the Madrid manager, is known to be a keen admirer of the Belgian and is already planning for next season even though he is yet to receive the reassurances he needs. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/eden-hazard-to-real-madrid-chelsea-braced-for-james-rodriguez-swap-deal-a6931616.html Bollocks most probably, but I guess Real has too many star AM's in this moment...
March 17, 201610 yr Author Something taken from wagnh which is probably worth thinking about it: I mean, I guess it's not the most ridiculous transfer rumor I've ever heard. Sure, the swap deal is a huge rarity still in modern football -- though, as we move closer and closer to model franchises as seen in US sports, "trades" might start happening with greater frequency -- and the only people who seem convinced that Hazard will actually leave Chelsea this summer are the rumor-mongers, but, on some level, I could see it happening.
March 17, 201610 yr Real Madrid will probably sell James this summer. http://en.as.com/en/2016/03/17/football/1458204171_129558.html They are not very pleased with James for several reasons described in here too (and I've to admit I wouldn't swap him for Hazard, he seems to be trouble) http://en.as.com/en/2016/03/17/album/1458218254_112038.html#1458218254_112038_1458218625
March 17, 201610 yr Don't think there's any truth to this personally (hopefully not anyway). Should be cash, Bale, cash + any of Varane/Ramos/Kroos/Ronaldo/Modric, or no deal. Edited March 17, 201610 yr by the special one
March 18, 201610 yr Real aren't short of cash and we're not a selling club. If they want him they need to pay top buck. I'd much rather have Isco than James, personally.
August 16, 20169 yr CHELSEA EYE JAMES Chelsea have moved ahead of rivals Arsenal in the race to sign Real Madrid midfielder James Rodriguez, according to Sport. The west London club still have €150m left to spend on a player whose contract at the Santiago Bernabeu runs until the end of June 2020.

August 16, 20169 yr Where is this pasted from?Sky sports have it in their transfer centre & gossip column. If it's true, what a signing he'd be, I love him as a player. Him & Koulibaly would be a great window for me. (I would like another defender on top of that but this would be expensive)
August 16, 20169 yr Not even close to true , that gossip column is like the fa cup draw, they pick out the team , then the player and write the rumor
August 16, 20169 yr yep would rather prefer a left back rather than another number 10 but if we got him i wouldn't complain
August 16, 20169 yr yep would rather prefer a left back rather than another number 10 but if we got him i wouldn't complain Ihe is not just another no.10. He is THE no.10. Creative, pacy, goal scoring, good work rate, passing range. Moreover a massive massive upgrade on anything we currently have. Seems like FIFA but i would sell cuadrado (15mil), pedro(10mil),oscar(30mil),cesc(30mil) to get James. We already have decent back ups in CM position (RLC, chalobah, mikel) and Moses and kenedy for Winger spots. Seems like pipe dream but would love it if this happened.

I wouldn't sell 4 players to get him anyway, especially not for the crazy low prices you've quoted, I think we have much more pressing issues than another attacking mid.
August 16, 20169 yr Mikel.....? Lol. Looks like kenedy is about to go. I think we'll need to keep either Pedro or cuadrado or maybe both. As back up. Also looks like cesc might go to Real. So maybe cash plus player for Rodriguez.

I wouldn't sell 4 players to get him anyway, especially not for the crazy low prices you've quoted, I think we have much more pressing issues than another attacking mid. Everytime I see him play, he is chasing and pressing off the ball. I guess you are confusing him with Isco. Also 2 of those 4 are "rumored" to be going away (cuad and cesc). Oscar is no where near the quality of James (or isco for that matter). We have more pressing matters, but so is creativity. We have one good creative player and he is rumored to be getting sold. Even if we dont sell Pedro, we can easily get 75mil pounds for cesc, oscar and cuad. Sell them and get James. Would be an absolute Dream.

We still need squad depth.
August 16, 20169 yr It's not realistic to give up 4 players for 1. We still need squad depth. Exactly it amazes me how people forget this. I blame football games like FIFA.
August 16, 20169 yr This only seems logical to buy James if we're selling Fabregas and one of Matic/Oscar.
August 16, 20169 yr It's not realistic to give up 4 players for 1. We still need squad depth. Like i explained in a latter post, 2 of them are being rumored to leave anyways (cesc and cuad). We have 5 wingers - Hazard, willian, Moses, Pedro, Juan in a season where we have no european football. I can assure you that atleast 1 of them will want out by Jan anyways. Juan seems to be at the bottom most in the heirachy and honestly I feel pedro is replacable with kenedy. I also say that we have squad depth with decent back ups like RLC, NAT and Mikel, while cesc being rumored to be on the way out. I think people are making a mountain out of a molehill regarding my post. Maybe it was worded wrong, but currently we have 7 CMs and 5 wingers (not counting Kenedy) which is surely 2 more than required. 2 to be sold would be cesc and juan while James to replace Oscar.
August 16, 20169 yr I have no idea how we'd use him. Cesc has same abilities and we already have him.
August 16, 20169 yr Conte has said Cesc still has a future at Chelsea. Just because Cesc didn't play any minutes in the first game of the season doesn't mean he's off.
August 16, 20169 yr And he's needed...no creativity from midfield last night...with their midfielders holding off Cesc would have loved the space in the middle
August 16, 20169 yr I think james would be a quality signing. It definitely make a statement, although i think we would probably need to lose Cuadrado, and moses. I think he is versatile enough to play wide right, in a midfield 3, or off a striker. Fabregas/oscar kante Rodriguez/matic Willian/Rodriguez costa hazard Or Willian matic kante hazard Rodriguez costa. Would prefer spending big money on a versatile forward than lukaku. Not the most pressing matter at the moment, but he is a match winner, and you can never have too many of those.

Actually mate, the problem is your valuation of the 4 players mentioned.. 85mils for those 4 is ridiculously cheap and I wouldn't be happy in such business.. I have no problem exchanging 4 with 1 if i feel it is a good business.. mikel, cuad, moses, rlc, all them 4 for griezman for example..
