Andreas Christensen

That doesn’t sit right with me though, and I bet it wouldn’t if Tuchel pulled him for Silva if he hasn’t put a foot wrong. With his contract ending in 2022  we need to tread carefully. The Tomori loan move already looks crazy with Milan now reported to be activating the low clause.  What we don’t need is to lose another defender because of our shortsightedness.

Many would know I'm not a massive fan of Christensen but think he has done well in a 3. I think his decision-making and lack of physical presence particularly in a 2 makes him too vulnerable to be the rock of our defence for the next decade.

I wouldn't be too concerned if he moved on. Beyond the homegrown factor there are dozens of defenders at a higher level than him who we could get with the money from he and Tomori.

For me Andreas' happiness isn't really a factor. We play the team that helps us go as deep as we can into the tournaments we are in and finish in the top four. End of conversation in my view.

My MOTM yesterday. Copied from MOTM thread.

I went for Christensen. Mount and Werner very close. AC really starting to ooze class and add more and more to his game with every match. Not only is he defending really well and looking like much more of a presence, but also moving with and distributing the ball brilliantly  - another couple of great through balls yesterday. I think he’s our most improved player this year and a potential runner-up for POTY (which has to be Mount). He’s gone from being a liability with nothing to offer in the eyes of most (“he can’t play in this league”) to one of the most complete CBs in the league. He’ll very soon be coveted by all the big clubs for silly money (assuming they’re still solvent :)).

He was very good again yesterday. Quietly going about having an impressive season.

Never doubted him & felt the quality was always there, the defence just has to setup right.

I liked him next to Silva, you have two centre backs who are very comfortable on the ball. We were really comfortable playing out the back. If we can find another defender in the ilk of Silva and Christensen, we’d be playing fantastic football starting from the back.

Consistently been top notch since Tuchel arrived. Very, very happy for him.

We were wondering what Tuchel was going to do when T.Silva was back but right now I think Azpi is the one who's going to have to yield for Christensen.

It’s actually a nice situation to have for once, four players in a back three all performing so well you don’t know who to leave out. Zouma has been the worst of the all but even then that’s only a few dodgy moments that’s put him there.

Wonder if the same back 5 play in Madrid.

Any of our RWB are screwed against Eden so best hope the Kante twins are at their very best.1 to run midfield, the other to man mark Eden.

Kante and James will destroy burger boy.

I hope that doesn't come back to bite me, but i do believe it, apart from the burgers.

That is asking too much of James this early. He has no issue dealing with pace and strength but we know Eden is far more than pace, his skill and creativeness will draw a lot of fouls. I worry for Reece against that getting sent off.

Think Kante is the only one who might be able to deal with him. Having said that I am looking forward to seeing Eden back playing again.

I think James will thrive at the chance of stopping Eden and RM, i think he's got more upper body strength than Eden, either way it will not be easy for Eden, he's not going to have it all his own way. I can see a lot of our players stepping up another level for this game and being totally focused on Tommy's plans, i think they totally believe in him, and we have a great chance of knocking them out and seeing Perez dumped on his arse, we will be Uefa's new babies.

If we do as you suggested we do have every chance.

We do need to do better at taking our chances though. Real wont be as generous at handing them out like West ham were.

Another solid performance from Christensen last night.

Looks like he's found a level of consistency that was previously lacking from his game.

He looks stronger and more confident in defending at the moment.

I', really chuffed for him. First time i have ever heard him talk yesterday post match, you would never tell he's not English from his accent.

Yeah the Scandis are amazing. not only do they speak perfect English, but they even manage to fully adopt the regional accent of wherever it is they play.

Going up against Christensen - Silva - Rudiger is a scary undertaking for any attacker the way they are playing now.

Add Azpi at RWB for the biggest games (like the CL-final...) and any team should struggle to create a lot against them.
