Andreas Christensen

Featured Replies

He was definitely pushed and in the replay it didn't look like a strong one, but when running at full pelt it could throw him off I guess?

Hope he's not injured but more crucially hope his confidence hasn't been rocked again..

Even without the push, he put himself in a weird position. Big test for Christiansen now, the best CB's bounce back after a mistake, but Christiansen in the past usually follows up with a few more errors before settling down again. Now will be the time to see if he has improved as a player.

He's so nervous when the pressure is on. He handled Karim fecking Benzema ffs.

He should be more confident against any striker not named Lewandowski

Brain fart from him today. Pushed or otherwise, his stupid decision to try and karate kick the ball cost us the goal and potentially done him out of a place in a couple of cup finals. Silly decision and only himself to blame.

I think the burden of proof is on the detractors at this stage (not that there are really any left). The best CBs have bad games and make mistakes from time to time. Our very own Thiago Silva has had/made a couple. Christensen making mistakes / having a bad day at the office was just a matter of time. My guess is that yesterday’s game is to his overall path what the WBA game/result was to Chelsea’s - ie a blip, from which he may well emerge even better and stronger.

Tuchel didn't sound too hopeful about his injury, there's a good chance that he's going to miss out on the final which is pretty gutting for him given how well he's played this season.

Good news for one of James or Zouma....

Got to be James surely and Azpi at RCB. One great tackle from Zouma yesterday but other than that I thought he was all over the place.

The fact that Zouma didn't play vs Madrid in midweek and he didn't start yesterday says alot for me. He doesn't 100% trust Zouma on the ball i would think. I like Zouma but he is a bit clumsy.

It's his positioning that frustrates me.

Know why he makes so many great looking, last ditch tackles? Because he's normally put himself in a position where he has too.

Agree with this one.. i think he really struggles with runners off him.. unsure weather to go with the runner or hold his line.. and it becomes more complicated for him in a 3...

I think its because Tuchel plays him in the middle of the 3 which makes no sense. He is better on the sides , preferably the left side. He doesn't have the mental awareness to play the middle of the 3.

Should be back for the FA-cup final or Aston Villa at the latest according to Tuchel.

Excellent news.

So our season and aura of brilliance seemed to evaporate after Christensen got injured (forgetting that he went off when we were 1-0 down against Man City). Coincidence?

Bizarrely, Tuchel tried to compensate for Christensen's abscence by experimenting with playing James as the right sided centre back.

James constantly looked out of his depth playing there, more so than Zouma has done playing in the back 3.

What? I thought James played great against Vardy who couldn't even produce a pen against us.

James was solid for the majority of both games against Leicester - but was directly at fault for both goals we conceded.

He played a sloppy ball straight to their player in the cup final, and in the league, he played a ball to kova that should never have been played, as he was under pressure straight away.

James does have a few mistake in his game, recently we have got away with them.

Christensen has impressed me this season, not perfect and weak a few times yet generally he has been decent.

Think we need to expect him to miss a period of the season due to injuries yet is good in a back 3 when fit.
