August 23, 20214 yr I actually see them both signing. They finally have a coach who plays to their strengths and also starts them. The issue will be money and i am sure we will pay up because Silva and Azpi have passed their peak while Rudiger and Christensen are reaching theirs.

If PSG show an interest in him and are willing to offer him a big wage ans signing on fee because he can join on a free transfer he might have his head turned by them. Same applies to Real Madrid and Barca who might show an interest because they're increasingly dependent on free transfers.
August 24, 20214 yr If PSG really would end up sigining him (which I don't think likely, I guess it was mainly TT that loved to have him at PSG during his tenure - Leonardo actually opposed that) we could immediately ask for Kimpembes number. But I'd also think that it's more likely for Rüdiger to leave than for Christensen, just a gut feeling. Edited August 24, 20214 yr by weetee

If he is smart he will realise that he is playing good because we play a back 3 which suits him.. He has never been great in a back 4. You are right though because due to his age this will be his last big guaranteed contract and every man deserves the right to secure the financial situation for his family. EXCEPT DANNY DRINKWATER WHO IS STEALING A LIVING. 😅😅😅😅 Thankfully we have a kid named chalobah who can step in if Rudi goes for the moula

I hate that narrative. He only ever was bad in a back 4 that one season under Lamps. And every one of our defenders was bad in that season, so it was probably down to the non-existing defensive concept... He was our best CB under sarri, he was good in the few games he played under Lamps last season and he was good enough in a back 4 for Roma for us to splash out some 30 odd pounds (too lazy to look up the exact number) for him. Now for Christensen this might be true. He had his best games for us under Conte and TT, but wasn't so good for Sarri and Lamps. But Rüdiger definetely knows how to handle himself in a back 4. He played Left centre back for Roma in a back 3 and not in a back 4. My quote was he has never been GREAT in a back 4. He has been good in a back 4 but not great.
August 26, 20214 yr He totally deserves, he became very good under Tuchel and started to be a player that we can trust in our lineup. I'm happy it happened, we have to keep him close with us. I was one of those who were always against him in the starting lineup, I believe he showed poor performances but his improvement is so big that he turned to be one of my favourites.

I think it's overegged with Christensen as well to be honest. His worst run of form for us came under Conte post Barca and that was playing a back three.
August 28, 20214 yr Another outstanding performance by our big Dane. Dominated from start to finish and was immaculate in the second half with our backs to the wall, as were all of the defence. He just continues to churn out top quality performances. Delighted for him.
August 28, 20214 yr What a performance. Again. Wouldn't trade him for any CB in the league as it stands. Top class CB.
August 28, 20214 yr Last season he received the red card against Liverpool, today he was the best player on the pitch. Turning to be top class defender and I love it. Keep it up Christensen!
August 28, 20214 yr Massive growth. He used to be so shaky against faster opponents but today nothing got past him
August 28, 20214 yr His improvement under Tuchel has been outstanding. Deserves all the praise he is now getting . Have to admit I'd have been happy for him to be shown the door after the Villa game now he is one of the trusted warriors, first names on the team sheet. Well done Andreas.
August 30, 20214 yr OK a fair bit has changed regarding Christensen over the past few days and his contract situation from what I read. While he does have other offers that unofficially have come to his agent, Bayern being one, he is now very likely to sign a new 4 year contract with us soon. A few things have set his mind at ease. One being he is now of the belief TT will stick around for a couple of seasons at least and that TT thinks very highly of him, as he has said to today. To the degree of having his trust and will be his first choice defender going forward from next season onwards when Rudiger and likely Silva leave. So good news for us as he really is developing well under TT.
