No. Kante has superior positoning, his tackling skill is immaculate, is a decent passer (unlike Ramires) and is an all round more intelligent player. In all honesty I can't see any reason why Ramires is wirth so much...

Just remember that Sublime goal against Barca in the 2012 CL, not a lot more to say really, was totally world class..

we will unquestionably have one or two players on loan who could do what these players are doing. we will not ever give them a chance though.

We do have a great scouting network but it's the choices being made on who to bring in and how to develop them that is the issue. The constant demand for instant success and high turnover of managers means it's hard to take a chance on players in league matches.

They signed Djilobodji who was just a good a bargain. Or signed Traore for free. They just then decided to ignore them in the squad, cuz they didn't cost the club 50 mln EUR.

 

I guarantee you that if Mahrez or Kante were bought by Chelsea they would have met the same fate as Djilobodji or Bertrand.

 

Big clubs like Chelsea have the tendency to overspend and buy proven talent, instead of taking a risk on lesser known names.

Hell no, Kanté is a proper holding player for the Makelele role. Obviously he's not as good as Maka but the way he's playing this season sometimes he reminds me of him.

This is football every team will get a bargain here and there and every club makes bad signings too. Football isn't black and white. Leicester signed Kramaric for a club record £9M and he hardly hit the world alight but no one seems to mention that.

 

We bought one of the best GK in the world in Courtois for like £6M, one of the best full backs in the Prem in Azpi for £7M. Signed Zouma for £12M looks like a bargain already, we get plenty of bargains too.

I would be delighted with any one of Veratti, Nainggolan, or Pjanic. Excellent players but at the same time would love for Loftus Cheek to get more of a look.

Why would any sane person want that odious little cock in their team?

Going back to the original question....it's a lot more than the midfield.  The entire squad needs a re-vamp.  All players on loan should be called back early in the summer (avoiding the Euro's) and the new Manager reassess the entire squad, especially the defensive midfield.  Sort out who wants to leave, regardless of who they are and sell them. Keep the talent that wants to stay and fight and wants to give 100%.

 

Absolutely get rid of the w**kers and those that haven't performed this year.  Keep the best of the kids in the squad; see what you have left and buy to fill the holes.
