Antonio Conte - Now Officially Manager

Featured Replies

Word is Carlo is coming back in the summer.

It's been mooted for months now but I wouldn't be shocked, I can see Conte returning to Italy with Inter. I hope he stays of course but I've seen this episode before at Chelsea andnitss usually always the same outcome. It's a real shame as ive never seen us take to a manager quite like we have to Antonio, it's the perfect match bar the board which will always be the deal breaker.

It seams to me so secret everything at the top level of the club. If they fire Conte for some insane reason I would like us to stand up and show who really are important for the club. Noone to show up for a game or similar might at least give a hint they can not do everything as they want. It might seam difficult but with internet and all the channels today sure possible.

This board should do all they can to warm conte's balls......yes he is that crucial imo. We are done for if he leaves......especially to bring in Carlo hahahaahah, its like reading a thriller where the murderers always get their way no matter what.

Not that i would agree with Antonio being sacked should it happen but i am not big on fans having a say in how the club should be run, if it was up to the average Chelsea fan Conte wouldn't have been appointed in the first place.

Agreed. To be fair I did not even know who he was before Chelsea.

I still question some of the sacking we done in the past but thank the God of football we are not like l'arsenal.

I was as happy as a man can be when I heard another year with Wegner. Another wasted year for them :)

Regarding Conte he is the real deal and I think most of us have a special feeling about him.  That is why it would hurt to see him go.

I don’t think it is all over with Antonio just yet, it is surely obvious to the board how much he is loved by us fans, his name is sung with gusto every game. I just hope for once they take it on board and do what they can to keep him.

At the moment, I cannot say with confidence who I would have to replace him. In my opinion he is that good. I love his passion and the fact he celebrates every goal as if he has just scored himself.

We need to tie him into a new contract, give him anything he wants and back him in the summer window. Last season of course but also this season, I feel I’ve enjoyed going the bridge more than I have in years.... i think Contes passion has definitely rubbed off on the fans.

Like the way he's been telling it as it is. He said what was true after last Saturday's shock loss, made the changes and we backed up with 2 wins in 3 days. We are a long way from the title not just because how we played, but City's been on such an amazing run, we'd have to winning 10-12 on a trot to keep up with them. In the last 10 games, we got 25 points, and we won all the home games after City. As supporters, as much as we want to win every game, we need to acknowledge Conte has done pretty well after the early setbacks on/off the field at the start of the season. If we ever want a long term engagement ( 3 years +) with a manager, he's the one!

With all due respect to Carlo, lovely man as he is. He's done that dance with us, what could he possibly improve by coming back? He's not going to get his all stars transfer wishes, and this league is a lot harder than the one he was in last time around.

Thank you Conte my man.....ramp it up their behinds.....he's right though, no bloddy respect whatsoever and itching to get an elite manager off the League.....or just way away from Chelsea. Your doing an incredible job don Conte and may you stay with us for years and years...........and as he mentions, of course all this sh*t will effect our players, thats the kind of bond the players have to him and vice versa. Stinking biased media ha.....

Conte might walk in the Summer, because of that we need to be looking at replacements - such as Carlo.

Hopefully not though, I would like Jardim of Monaco or Favre of Nice. We need to learn how to play in a league which where there is only one superpower ;)

Never a fan of managers using the transfer windows as an excuse.  However I think the reason he keeps bringing it up is because the bosses must be saying things aren't good enough.  It must be frustrating for Conte who has worked even harder to keep the players driven, had injury set backs in key areas and the added mantle of being champions... all those things considered we've done very well and then to be told things have got to get better.

If the club want to compete every single season and play at elite levels consistently, they'll need to spend as consistently.  If they are more than happy to be competitive and still win the season (just not every year) then they shouldn't expect that of the manager.

If Conte is upset by a lack of spending, and I'm not convinced he is, it is just as likely to indicate his ambition as his unhappiness. The papers need a story and speculating about the Chelsea managers position has become the norm.

Conte has said he is staying and the board would be mad to get rid. The club really needs to take a good look at itself if it really is considering the sack when they have let players like Salah and De Bruyne slip through thier fingers.

I think the board will wait til the end of the season and depending on how well we do will offer him a new contract. I think he's shown his class, as fans we've got a great connection with him and would be nice to see him here long term and backed massively in the transfer market.

We need more gamechangers or change the approach we go into games.

Conte needs to bring more out of Willian, Pedro, Batshuayi this season.

Fabregas also needs to put up more numbers.

This season showed that we don't put away the smaller teams like we do some of the bigger ones.

All things considered, he's done a good job to steady the ship and have us comfortably in the top 4 at this stage. The aim is to consolidate our spot in the top 4 and win a trophy or two (most likely FA Cup and/or League Cup), which would be a good return in his second season.

Whether he stays beyond this season is anyone's guess, but I would be disappointed to see him depart if that's how it transpires at the end of the season.

Solid 7/10 so far, made some infruriating decision's, but all in all, in most season's we would still have a decent chance of the title. In many ways his score for this season depends on (if he stays) how we responds to City's raising of the bar for next season.

Conte has really changed us during his time here.

-We play from the back pretty comfortably
-Our back is 3 instead of 4
-We are much more balanced than in years.

If Conte gets his targets in the transfer market we are well off.

+ He never gets in trouble like Jose p.e. I believe Roman wants to give him extension but the Conte himself is wondering about ambition and the finances we will provide him to buy the players he wants. But right now, there is a stability in scores that I'm sure if Conte stays, will give us many battles for the title in upcoming years. Even this season we would be a real contender if City wasn't that perfect. I believe Chelsea can be like United in 2000's - champions many times and if we are not, due to some extraordinary performance like this one from City, and always involve in top 4. We had so many problems at the beginning of the season, it's unbelievable that we are right next to United. Give this man a new contract, and more importantly - the right amount of money for players. He totally deserves it.

Conte is also a classy guy. Always behaving well and if it boils over he apologises like a man and moves on. A certain portugese coach lacks that class.

I'm pretty sure Roman would love him to stay for long but to be honest I don't see it happening. Not solely because Chelsea fire managers but Conte probably wants to see other cities and other clubs at this point in his career.

Hope he stays beyond this season.

Assuming we get a decent LWB addition like Sandro, I would like Azpi to play RWB and Alonso to try out at LCB with Rudiger or Cahill to play RCB. it would be interesting to see if Alonso would be able to cross like Azpi does currently on the right side (6 EPL assists). With Azpi playing further forward on the right he should be able to put in more crosses too. That way he would hopefully see good crosses coming from both the right and left.

Well, its not guaranteed that he would be able to provide the same assists from completely different zone of the pitch. You see where his shots go? It's very unusual the way Dave's kicking the ball. He was on the right side, he was on the left side and simply he didn't deliver anything. I believe the way he is spinning the ball is possible only from where he stands right now. + he is the best defender in the team. Absolutely no need to change something that works.

I state that as possibly we could have crosses from both sides of the pitch, on MOTD they are pointing out Azpi's assists for Morata and unless we have a plan B teams will start working to stop this.
