Conte needs to stop biting on these comments. It doesn't serve a purpose at all.

Although Conte is careful not to attack the club him losing his control on reacting to JM's comments may be a sign of his unhappiness with transfer activity.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has called Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho "a little man" as the pair continued to trade insults.

On Friday, Mourinho said he would "never be suspended for match-fixing",appearing to talk about Conte.

The Italian received a four-month suspension while at Juventus in 2012-13 for failing to report match-fixing at his previous club Siena.

In 2016, Conte was cleared by a court of any wrongdoing in the matter.

"I think when there are these types of comments, comments where you try to offend the person and don't know the truth, then you are a little man," Conte told BBC Sport on Saturday after his side's 0-0 draw at Norwich Cityin the FA Cup third round.

In numerous interviews to the media on Saturday, Conte repeatedly called Mourinho "a little man".

He told BBC Radio 5 live: "When is the game against United? We can meet in a room. To try and explain about these comments. I don't know if he is ready to meet me in a room, just me and him.

"I'm not surprised [at the comments]. He has to know before he speaks because he is suffering from amnesia."

'He is fake' - what Conte said at the news conference

Antonio Conte continued to talk about former Chelsea boss Mourinho in the post-match news conference and explained further what had happened in Italy.

"It's true I was banned for four months by the sporting justice for failure to report," Conte, 48, said. "Then I asked for a retrial by court and then they declared it nonsense.

"Before you make these kind of comments you must pay great attention, because you show you are a little man.

"In the past he was a little man in many circumstances, he's a little man in the present and for sure he will be a little man in the future. I consider him a little man and I consider him a man with a very low profile."

Conte also criticised 54-year-old Mourinho, who wore a shirt with the initials 'CR' at a Manchester United news conference in February 2017, in support of another former Chelsea manager, Claudio Ranieri, who had just been sacked by Leicester City.

"I remember with Ranieri when he [Mourinho] offended him for his English," added Conte. "And then when Ranieri was sacked he put on a shirt for Ranieri. You are fake, you are fake.

"I think in this last period he's suffering a bit of amnesia. When you become older there is this type of risk. Also for me and for you.

"If you want to fight this person, you try to kill this person. And then after two years you try to help this person because maybe it's good for you, for your profile."

Jose' is losing the plot and dragging down Conte with him.....the best thing Conte can do is not respond and not bite to these slim ball antics of Jose.

Its completely up to Conte what he does and if he decides to get in a war of words, its nothing to do with Mourinho and him dragging Conte down.

Conte is calling it big by saying see you in Manchester / me v him. 

Not confident that we will come out on top in that game.

Nope and if we don't Conte will look silly if he continues to allow Jose to get in his head. 

This is want Jose wants, he does this all the time.

Surprised Jose wants to talk about scandalous issues as its likely to bring his controversial matters back to the fore.

I doubt Man Utd will be pleased with his behaviour its not in keeping with what they would expect from a manager.

Ever since jose went to utd it has been evident to see he is crazy hurt and jealoux of Conte........he just has to constantly bring some sh*t up regarding our man and the Club.

He has lost it for sure and looks ohh so bitter.......whatever charm he had is long long gone and footy has passed him by at mark 3 speeds.

Amazing how we used to love this man......what a petty, rancid and deluded of a man he has become ha.

Let him have it Conte......I know for a fact I would have hit back if it was me........you cant just shut up and take it from behind just because jose is playing mind-games ( this is much more than mind-games btw )......you go get him my man.

Nobody gets away from Jose, everybody gets dragged in. I don't think there's ever been a manager who kept his cool and ignored him.

 

Oh dear I would hope conte would ride above this stuff but ckearly not. I don't think Roman will be too happy about this.

JM is a pure c**t, why not react I say. Conte was cleared of any wrongdoing. Jose is finished I think, no one respects or fears him as a manager. I hope he stays at Utd for many years but I fear this is his last. In saying that I think the prem deserves better than mourinho.

I say fair play to Antonio, very passive aggressive and I’m sure it’s wound Jose up no end...Jose has lost all my respect

It may not be just jealously he may be looking after his career.

Chelsea just 1 point behind and what if we climb above Utd, it will look like Chelsea got the better manager and Utd got a manager on the decline.

What I do pick up though that is JM is playing the media and Conte is just reacting, for me that is not good.

Not happy with this Jose feud thing, I'm not sure if it had any impact on the game yesterday, but we didn't hear what Conte said about the match, all we heard was more name calling. At the end of the day, they are managers not footballers, nobody want see them trade blows on the sideline or doing something unsavory. Not saying Conte's at fault, but he's a better man than Jose and should stop being dragged deeper in this muddy water. There are a dozen games before the OT visit, need to focus on what's next rather than being distracted by Jose.

but Don Antonio did talk about the match - he was happy to have not given up a goal - he specifically mentioned Kenedy for playing good & going to full 90 - he was just upset that there wasn't a win in the end.

I don’t even get why they are arguing. It’s not as if they are really direct competition. I know we’re competing for 2nd place but it’s not really that important. They must not like each other. 

Saw on a question on Twitter which I thought was interesting. Has anyone set of fans fallen out of love so quickly against their greatest ever manager? 

Can't think of many 'greatest ever managers' ever going to manage a direct rival.

Jose kept everyone’s adoration even after he left, we sung his name, he got a great reception on his first game back after joining United. It’s his antics that have caused this. People mentioned it when he was here, it doesn’t even seem like the cheeky José who played mind games the first time round with us, he just seems to take veiled swipes and lash out at other people because he’s not winning. 

 

I still respect him massively for all he’s done for us, but I don’t love him like I did before. He’s soured as a person IMO. I don’t reckon he’ll survive at United much longer, he’s on the decline for me, which in all honesty is quite a shame as he was a great character.

 

If we beat United to 2nd, I’m not sure he’ll survive, maybe he’ll get another season, but United have spent A LOT and are miles behind City and competing with us.

I agree. This is Jose's game always has been. You can't bite in the media because that is what he wants. While Conte is worried about Jose's comments he isn't as focused on our team. This stuff is water off a ducks back for Jose.

I don't think that Conte would be with the team throughout the week's training thinking about Jose's comments. Do you really think they've bothered each other that much? It isn't like they have kidnapped each others' wives is it? 

I hope the media latch on to "the little one" or "the small one" ... quite the come down from "the special one" LOL. Masterful stuff from Antonio ...
