December 25, 20169 yr "When Conte was appointed as the manager for Juventus, he took over a club which was coming off back to back 7th place finishes in the league .Juve had never got their stature back after the Calciopoli scandal, which resulted in them being demoted to Serie B, deducted 9 points and were stripped of their previous two titles. Although when Conte took charge they were back in Serie A ,but they were nowhere near their glorious past. The club was in dire need of a huge restructure and Conte was tasked with rebuilding the club he once played for. Prior to returning to Turin, Conte had shown the ability to revive struggling teams at Arezzo, Bari, Siena and Atalanta which was also one of the reasons why Conte was the right fit for the bianconeri's rebuilding project. The rest, as they say, is history, Conte started the season using a 4 man defense but then switched to the 3-5-2 to utilize more center backs and central midfielders which was the real strength of his squad. Conte would win his first scudetto(league title) going undefeated, which in itself is an unbelievable achievement. Following season he had an impressive run in the Champions League before being eliminated by a brilliant Bayern Munich team. While many rightfully remember how much Juventus underachieved the following season in Europe, but what's important to remember is that there is a very limited sample size for Conte in the Champions League, and in one of the two seasons he actually played in the competition his team more than met expectations." Conte has a bit of history in reviving teams, turned a very average Juve team into an absolute beast of a team and now he's doing the same at Chelsea Also, if you would have said in the Summer that our defence would consist of Luiz, Moses, Alonso and Cahill and it would be the best in the League you would have pissed yourself laughing

December 26, 20169 yr He's got a lot right this season but not starting a recognised striker at home to Bournemouth today is a mistake for me ... pretty much says he has no confidence in Michy, which is a shame ....
December 26, 20169 yr Well I guess we can chalk up another first for Antonio ... getting three easy points without playing a specialist striker :) The man who has the Midas touch ... :-)

This isn't really accurate, he did poorly at Arezzo and Atalanta and didn't last very long at either club, 12 games at Arezzo and 14 at Atalanta with winning percentages of 25% and 24.1% respectively. Francesco Guidolin hopes Antonio Conte’s Chelsea “will stay top until the end of the season”. The Italian was sacked by Swansea City earlier this season, but is backing his compatriot to lift the Premier League title. “He’s done really well,” Guidolin told Sky. “It’s not easy to coach in the Premier League and come into this League, not least from the point of view of relationships and a new language. “He has a great team, but he’s done really well to convince everyone to change the system to improve their performance. It’s not easy to change the minds of the English. “I offer him congratulations and I hope that he will stay top until the end of the season.” http://www.football-italia.net/95399/guidolin-backs-conte-title

I think he really loves challenges.
December 26, 20169 yr Quite unbelievable the way he has turned things around. 12 wins in a row in this league is almost unheard of and to do it coming off a season like we had last year? Incredibly. Just have to keep it up now. Can't slow down or get overconfident as we have a pack of wolfs behind us just waiting for a little sign of weakness.
December 26, 20169 yr Our reporter John Southall tells the tale of Antonio Conte inviting journalists who attended his press conference before the game against Bournemouth for drinks afterwards. “A handful of journalists were invited for pre-Christmas drinks after his press conference, so we all adjourned to the local pub around the corner and he bought us a beer,” Southall said. Best defence in all the major leagues in Europe!. Merry Xmas and a happy new year in advance to every shedender. Forza Chelsea, Forza Conte.

Even i have to admit i didn't think he could quite reach Simeone-level when it comes to defensive organization(Simeone pre this season) but he's certainly done it so far.
December 27, 20169 yr Maybe, but Simeone defend with all of his team in his half, not like us. There is no such balance in Atletico. They are very strong in defence, but in some matches lacks hard in attack. Its not only how you defend but with how many players you defend well, this is most imporantly. Cause they are few managers who can have strong defence with less defenders, and many who can defend well, but park the bus. This is the difference. We are strong in defence, while not parking the bus or play very defensively with a lot of guys in our defence, we have strong defence with less people in the defence and have strong attack, unlike Jose Mourinho and Simeone. Thats why we are so strong. I hope you get my point, cause my english is far from perfect and i have hard times by trying to express myself on this point. Edited December 27, 20169 yr by brakeit

He may very well be right, but as we should have learned from Jose sometimes a strange decision doesn't always have a genius reason behind it. Conte's substitution policy in general confuses me a little.
December 27, 20169 yr 12 match winning run and people find something to moan about no manager can win with certain Chelsea fans he brings Chelsea youngsters gives them a chance so fans move on from that to something else. Jeez can't just enjoy our revival we are having
December 27, 20169 yr Hello everyone! Unfortunately with a new baby i have not had much fre time to come on the site, but luckily i have been able to watch a few games. first of all i would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a fantadtic new year, with us winning the league ;) i would like to make a comment on Conte. I wasnt 100% sold on him when we got him in the summer, but i am happy to admit that i was completely wrong, the guy is world class. not only are the players and the entire squad looking like world beaters, not only is our bench made up mostly of players brought through our youth system but he seems to be an absolute gentleman. i will always be grateful for JM first stint at the club as it really made us a force to deal with, but now when you hear Antonio and Jose talk in press conferences or after games i know we have the right guy in place. would love us to sign Naingolan with the Oscar money this transfer market and i am really looking forward to seeing what Conte can do with this squad. Love to all!

December 28, 20169 yr The point is he could win all our remaining league matches and some fans will still be unhappy and find something to complain about
