May 13, 201610 yr Jake Cohen managed to shed some light on this situation. He's a sports lawyer who covers a lot of legal, financial and economic issues arising in football. Oh yeah, he's also a Chelsea fan. "Christian Purslow has ended several existing commercial deals early in favour of his own from the moment he joined Chelsea. Turkish Airlines were lined up at £25m p.a before Purslow came on board. Once he joined, he went out and convinced Yokohama to pay £40m. Purslow also landed Chelsea their first ever training kit deal with Carabao worth £10m p.a. I say this all the time, but a top commercial director is literally worth his or her weight in gold. Speaking of commercial directors, Vitesse Arnhem's last CD left to take a new job in 2014. That job? Head of global football at Under Armour.." "If Chelsea sold 3 million shirts this season at £50.00 each, that's £23m for Chelsea and £127m for Adidas. Easy to see why Chelsea have opted out. This is how kit deals work. 10-15% goes to the club, the rest to Nike, Adidas etc. But surely Chelsea is worth more than £27m p.a. with our following."

May 13, 201610 yr Remember the Kappa Italy kits from around 12 years ago? Skin tight where even slim folk looked chubby in them.
May 13, 201610 yr Interesting that about Purslow, very shrewd by the club to bring him in if what Cohen is saying is true. He's operating quite stealthily too, not really heard much from him/about him since his appointment and he appears to be going about restructuring our approach to sponsors very well. Leaving our partnership with Adidas might end up hugely benefiting the club... Hopefully.

May 13, 201610 yr The Adidas kits were good for the first few seasons but they ended up looking the same due to always having to use the 3 stripes on sleeves, I would have loved to see an adidas home shirt with yellow stripes. Edited May 13, 201610 yr by curtis---
May 13, 201610 yr Here is a very good reason, why adidas have been 'Jocked off' http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11661/10279992/chelsea-beat-utd-on-shirt-sales

May 13, 201610 yr Legitimate shirts, I'm guessing.big market for fake shirts in Spain and Portugal. Sold openly in shops without any problems
May 14, 201610 yr i cannot believe we beat United in shirt sale despite this sh*t seasonUnited has always has a bigger fanbase than ours
May 15, 201610 yr I'd imagine that getting a new shirt sponsor would boost some sales from a club. Any shirt with "SAMSUNG" on it would immediately be dated.
May 15, 201610 yr As long as out first kit is the proper shade of blue and the away kit is yellow I don't care. I still like the old umbro ones, blue with a white collar and yellow with green collar
May 17, 201610 yr BANG http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2016/05/17/chelsea-sign-60m-a-year-kit-sponsorship-deal-with-nike/
May 17, 201610 yr That's a bloody beautiful deal. Only Utd have better in the world. Until Madrid sort their 1Billion deal out. It helps with big spending this summer, and the loss we make from missing CL, is technically covered in Nike deal
May 17, 201610 yr We'll make up the compensation we had to pay to cancel the deal with Adidas in 1 year. It was definitely worth pulling out.
May 17, 201610 yr I thought the club was in shambles by some of the post i seen on here Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
