Jose Mourinho thread

Featured Replies

Yeah, I still miss him. I realise that in the end he had to go, but I still wish things could have worked out differently.

Yeah, pretty much exactly the same as me.

i will if he goes to utd. as much as we had almost no option but to let him go in the end, i think him going to utd and being given a big financial kitty will be massive for utd's future success.

No, I don't miss him. I'm thankful for what he did, but this wasn't the same Jose as first time around. He made everything a drama and was just so abrasive.

Onwards and upwards with the future.

I'm with you on this. Jose mark 1 yes but Jose mark 2 no I don't miss him.

agree on the comments about there being a mk1 and mk2 mourinho, first time he left I was shocked and angry, second time round it was abit more meh as bad as that sounds, the last few months of his reign were nothing short of embarrassing, I can take defeats and I can take poor runs of form but not when nothing is being tried to change it around then that is what I find unacceptable, mourinho who came back wasnt the same guy that we took from porto or that turned up at inter, something happened to him at madrid, I dont know what but it changed him in his approach somehow.

Maybe he was abducted by aliens.

No, I know what you mean. I think he peaked at around 2010.

For the best part of 15 years he has built unnecessary pressure on himself and I think this has taken its toll on him.

He will always be a good manager but the real special one was between 04-10.

Interesting point about what is defined as a "title" (before the thread descended into puerile bickering).

When talking about a title, does everyone else tend to mean just league titles? Van Gaal has just been referring to the FA cup as a title, and I'm sure I've seen things like "Ryan Giggs, 23 major titles" etc. and I've always just taken it as major honours.

As for Jose - no, I don't miss him. Between him and FSW, I have felt my passion for football wane. Even when we were winning, there's just something about the decisions he'd made, set up the team, press conferences etc. which just tired and frustrated me. Grateful for the success he's brought, but glad that this chapter is shut and looking forward to the future.

Sad to read that our greatest ever manager, fans saying that it made them dislike football. The football was pretty dire though.

I can see him fitting in well at United unfortunately. They are set up for one man to run a football club and will give him full control. He didn't have that type of control at Chelsea.

I reckon Jose is on the verge of a nervous breakdown, he just didn't look right for a long time. If Ferguson still has a lot of influence then they will clash big time. It won't end well.

On his way to Utd without a doubt. What a shame. Will he win major trophies? I'd bet my house on it. Hopefully it doesn't last more than a couple years.

Does this mean we could sign Juan Mata?

Love the guy but wouldn't sign him now, looks a shadow of his former self

United didn't hang around announcing it. Right after the FA cup. Classy.

Gutted. However it's the job he's always wanted. Is he still one of us?

Saw a rumour on Twitter that Jose has told the United board that the squad needs a "formidable reshape".

I'm sure they'll let him spend, spend, spend.
