Jose Mourinho thread

Yeah heard he said some slightly harsh things about shaw. I would like to see shaw come to us, he has the potential to be class. Before his injury he was doing everything right and looked very solid. He is 21 and has plenty time to return to form, it's just José being impatient and once again not showing much faith in a young player who isn't proven. Rashford is only getting games because he looked impressive under van gaal.

Think it has to do with the fact that he is making major bucks at United and his head is turned. I will welcome him at Chelsea only if he takes a pay cut. He is talented but attitude matters as well.

He has always had problems breaking lesser sides down, even at Chelsea the first time in the 95 points season i think he had 4/5 avoidable home draws. Thing is now, he doesn't have a player like Ronaldo or Hazard who could break those teams down themselves and it's badly showing in the results.

It's fundamentally his tactical focus ... 1. avoid defeat 2. protect a small lead ...  contrast to Conte,  who if we score one goal, then he wants another ... so we hardly have any draws and have alot more wins.

If you look at the Manchester United games this season they haven't dropped a point (not one!) in PL games where they have scored 2+ goals ... in PL games where they've scored 0 or 1 goal, they are won 2 drawn 13 lost 3 ... granted some of those are down to sloppy finishing, but fundamentally the way he sets up the team has alot to do with it (as we also saw when he managed us).

yeah, wonder if jose just has a bit of a grudge against shaw since shaw turned down the chance to come to us, and instead went to utd for bigger wages.

I doubt it. Jose cares only about winning - by hook or crook.

Jose and Eto'o hated each other for most of the 00's but it didn't stop the former signing the latter to help him win. Mou would sign Wenger if it helped him win title's.

You'd think after the Chelsea players turned on him last time around he'd have learnt his lesson and tried not picking pointless fights with his own players but he hasn't learnt anything. What's the point of constantly picking on shaw anyway?

Even I felt a bit sorry for Shaw after Jose's comment after the Everton game. Jose is taking all the credits for Shaw's good cameo, because he's been instructing Shaw how to play from the sideline. Shaw is a decent EPL player,  been playing well before Jose, and will do so after Jose. To say he needs instructions from sideline to play is just absurd

I am wondering if the hanging out players to dry is a way for Mourinho to convince the board that they need to go on another major spending spree in the summer to get him the players he wants.

Jose publicilly criticising his attackers and Luke Shaw this weekend. He never would have done it his first stint with us.

Like when he blasted Joe Cole for lack of effort or told Carvalho to get his head checked?

There was plenty of support still for mourinho when he was sacked last year, with alot fans saying we should've kept him until the summer and let him sort the squad out. It got me thinking how we would have lined up this season, and whether we would still be top of the league.

Obviously all conjecture. But here goes.

Courtois

Azpi zouma bailey  (new left back)

Matic pogba

Willian oscar mhkatarian

Zlatan.

I think hazard and Costa will have been sold to raise funds for an overhaul. Not sure who we would've target at full back either right or left depending on where mourinho would want to play dave.

I think with that team we wouldn't be top, but I think we could possibly be better off than where united is now.

Wow that team looks so poor compared to our present one! We will not have got the likes of Pogba though...

No way in hell would any team play with 2 20 year old central defenders, especially 1 rookie EPL player and 1 after long term injury. Oscar was not up to the standard, it has been proved time after time. Selling Hazard to raise funds for Pogba deserves an instant sacking, hypothetical or not.

Jose didn't want be with us anymore last season, he was begging to be sacked after repeating the same mistakes, and blaming on players for everything.

I dont think chelsea would have spent the kind of money Utd did on Pogba and also Pogba was not interested in Chelsea. Also, Zlatan was a free transfer so we would have got him without having to spend money by selling Hazard or Costa. Also, Mourinho often starts Cesc. If we have a front 2 of Costa and Zlatan, rest assured those defenders are going to have their hands full, but good chance this team will not be as fluid as the one we have now.

Jose is starting to sound desperate like Liverpool fans that he used to dispise. You can tell a club have fallen behind when they constantly talk about how big they are and they're history

"We don't need because Manchester United's history is so big and Manchester United is so much bigger than many other clubs that are playing Champions League that if Manchester United do not play Champions League for four years that doesn't affect the prestige, the dimension and history of the club. "

Agree. He likes going public when he wants to tell the board a message. However, I haven't seen him be so castrating of a player before.

“I think if we play against Chelsea with the second team you will kill me. The country, the football country, will kill me because when mathematically it’s possible there’s no reason not to try.”

“If in the certain moment of the season we have no chances to get the top four and we’re still in the Europa League then there’s a reason that nobody can deny, nobody can criticise because then if we only have the Europa League we have to focus on the league. In one week we play Tottenham, Southampton, Palace and then the Europa League final then every one needs to accept I’ll focus on Europa League.”

Here's another message. I think he's scared of losing a 3rd tme with the best team he has available. I'm sure he wants to keep that unbeaten run so he can point to it all summer. I expect a weakened team going out there not to be beaten. If they are, now he can hold his hands up and say 'I don't care, I'm going for a trophy and CL qualification.'

Agreed. This is a whole new level that I have never seen.
