Jose Mourinho thread

You would think so but this is knockout football, we had a seemingly easy path to the FA Cup in 2008 and got beat by Barnsley.

Lyon with Lacazette leading the line are a real threat and one awful half against them and they are f**ked.

Hopefully tonight!

I can't bear them getting CL football and winning another trophy, it was media overload in the league cup.

“So, we have to be human with the players, we have to be sensible and [use] common sense in relation to our situation in the Premier League, and I think the last match against Swansea [a 1-1 draw] was our last chance to fight for a top-four place, so I am going to rest players, sure.”

1 point off 4th, 4 points off 3rd. Someone should tell Pochettino they have no chance at winning the league.

I don't know if he's only referring to resting players against Arsenal ahead of the 2nd leg vs Celta or if he genuinely believes they have no chance of getting 4th and he's going to start resting players from here on out in the league.

wouldn't notice if they used reserve players anyway, pretty much play like like a reserve team as it is.

I'm amazed at the lack of stick that Jose is getting for their league position. They have been in 6th for most of the season and will likely finish in 6th as they've given up on the league.

I mean, 6th! Most people had United to at least challenge for the title or be comfortably in top 4. If United don't win Europa, then surely he will get a lot of stick.

Mourinho will win the Europa league and everyone will praise how fantastic he has done to win 2 trophies and return to the champions league in his first season in charge. No one will pay attention to the boring football that has landed him in 6th position.

After Mourinho called the Utd fans a few games back for the lack of atmosphere in Old Trafford does that mean we, as a fan base, can finally return the 'Mourinho's right, your fans are sh*te' rhetoric to the Utd fans? :Connie_threaten:

After the Celta game he said "let's hope in the second leg Old Trafford wants us to win because when Old Trafford wants us to win, we win"

They've got like 12 home draws?

Romeu being linked with Barca and getting fantastic reviews this season. Another one Mourinho let leave too early without giving them a chance?

Well it only took 4 years of chances, beyond the many appearances he made under avb before Di Matteo gave up on him. You'd have to really stretch to criticise Jose there.

I seem to remember him playing well for us in 11-12 and then under Rafa in 12-13.

Bertrand - yes,

Kdb - yes

Lukaku - f**king yes

Luis, Mata

You can blame Jose a lot for these players, but romeu is hardly his fault.

He played 486 minutes of football in 12-13 and then spent the whole season injured. Hardly Jose's fault that he was not willing to integrate him into the first team.

United fans think the emotion at the end of tonight's game shows he loves their club.

I can't blame them.

I used to think likewise during his time here.

There will probably come a time they will realise that clubs are nothing more than vehicles to ride to personal glory for Jose Mourinho.

Some of them would probably already admit it. Others might deny it despite knowing it.

Earlier in the season I thought I hated him. I don't. What I hate is that I was once fooled by him like many United fans are now. Like Inter/Madrid/Porto fans were in the past.

He's good at it. It's perhaps what he's best at.

deary me....there you again; all sensitive at being named as a brexiteer - which is what you are. You were happy to wade in at the time & post your support for brexit so what happened to all that brexit chest thumping? The reality of your choice is starting to sink in isn't it - and it's going to be a terrible reality for you & the rest of Britain - so the 'mature' thing to do would be to admit that you've made an horrendous mistake. But will you I wonder?

i'm a bit late to this conversation, but just thought i'd say that I also voted in favor for brexit and also still stand by my decision. As for it being a horrendous mistake, that's all down to the eye of the beholder. I personally think it was one of the best things i've ever done.

"I haven't seen him care this much for a team and it's only the Europa League. The way he was crapping himself on the touchline felt like he was just a fan"

"Don't let anyone ever tell you that Manchester United is just another club to Mourinho. "

"Perfect for us, there is no one else."

"We won't be using these tactics either once he has the team he wants. He's the best man for the job IMO and the one we should have gotten straight after the great one."

They've been sucked in. The last one is my favorite. Yea, he will do. Get used to it

Guy in my work is totally insufferable, bleating on about how Jose will return MU to glory and is the best manager in the world for the best club in the world, blah blah blah

Fans like that are just morons, I hate gloaters and braggers. Even more so when it's just hot air and what they're gloating about hasn't even happened.

I never gloat, I have a bit of banter with a few close friends but that's it. It's just not my style and I think you can quickly look a dick when it all goes tits up. It's partly while I appreciate any success in any competion.
