For some reason the forum won't permit my comment at the end to move out of the quote field.

Sucks to be you.

Looks like Jose is picking fight with someone ( media and pundits? )again after the last game. I reckon last season really did damage to his confidence. Jose picking a fight is not news, but in the past it's all about timing and serve a purpose ( e.g. tempt the other manager to change game plan or spur up his own players), I feel since last season he just doing it to distract the criticism and heat on himself. I hope I'm right about this :laugh2:

Having listened to Mourinho's presser today, I get the vibe Rooney might start tomorrow, I have to say, This new Mourinho, The Mourinho who lacks balls, tactical nouse and the swagger is really growing on me. If he starts Rooney tomorrow, Any bad result and the fans will turn on him, They hate shrek as much as us oppo fans.

Yeah from reading Red Cafe and listening to other United fans, Rooney is not their favourite player at the moment.

I get why Jose wants him there as he likes workhorses rather than creative players. Jose needs to be careful that it doesn't unravel quickly at United. He's already been labelled as "negative" and "blaming players".

Jose has defintely lost that magic that made players want to run through walls for him. His teams don't seem to have the same bond as his Porto, Inter and Chelsea 04 teams and wonder if he scared to really scared to upset the players.

The reaction from United fans towards Rooney is a bit odd. You would think one of their greatest of all time would get a bit more respect. Ok, if a player is crap now then call them crap, but with the way United fans talk about Rooney, you would think that he has given them nothing in the past 10 years. Ivanovic get's heavily criticised for us these days, but the majority of it is done without going mental. I don't see many Chelsea fans calling Ivanovic a w**ker, prick or a piece of sh*t that's for sure. United fans sound like the hate Rooney just because he isn't as good as he once was.

I think the difference for us is ivanovic is still trying his best, he's just not up to it anymore. Also he never held the club over a barrel in contract negotiations. Let's not forget mourinho wanted to bring Rooney here a couple of years ago. Would've been worse than Torres!

Yes but Scott, Ivanovic hasn't threatened to join Tottenham because Chelsea signed Djilibudgie, A lot of red manc's still despise Rooney for threatening to join City over a lack of ambition in the transfer market and rightly so. I know i will sound a bit tinfoil hat here but maybe the Glazers forced Fergie's retirement by a year or two due to him wanting to get rid of Rooney, Fergie didn't like players who thought they were bigger than the club to be around, He was easing him out the door and with Mourinho's inability to drop him proves he must have some sort of clause in his contract which means he has to play. It's all well and good Moyes and LVG not dropping him, We thought that was down to bad management but if Mourinho can't then you know something's up.

Other day in the live thread a duo of our players were called sh*tbags or something of the ilk. We aren't innocent in that regard, some people resort to really childish name calling often.
