Following Our Nearest & Dearest Rivals, 2016/2017

Featured Replies

Its early days, but just a random thought, Jose's Utd look just like Van Gaal's boys with a few extra star men, whilst Pep seems to have had an instant impact on City's playing style

Initially i didn't think Friday night football could work but today having the knowledge that there's a big prem game on instead of having to watch a Ligue 1 game or a Serie A game on BT sport is so exciting, Should be a cracker of a game, Really looking forward to it.

Hope Joe Hart has a better game in goal for Torino this week than he did last week .

Torino are 'my' Italian side.

I know Torino aren't our rivals.

Don't you mean 'John Hart'?

Only just found out that his first name is actually Charles.

WTF Pep, I've never seen Kolarov played at centre half before.

It looks like City will walk the league this season.

They have started the season on fire, just like we did 2 years ago. By the time anybody get's into top form, they could be too far ahead. I can't see anybody beating them this season, they look too good.

Game over already at City..2-0 up ...Arsenal 1 up....we could be 8th place by the end of the weekend.  City will stroll to the title given how everyone else is playing.....this could all be over by March

Man City are playing effortlessly even without their best players, and the likes of Kolarov in central defence. :laugh2:

It's incredible how quickly they picked up Guordiola's style of football. Disappointing that we missed out on him.

Such a joy watching City. Wish we could play like them.

If we'd invested £450m over the last three season maybe we would.

That's not taking anything away from City but I think unquestioned backing of your managers in the transfer market goes a long way.

We've invested about a billion in the last decade, it's just that above the manager, our club is run horrendously.

Our investment has been sporadic, misplaced and occasionally involved vanity purchases.

Not since Jose first came to Chelsea have we backed a manager like City did this summer with Pep and that's why he's been able to make such an impressive, instantaneous impact there.

It's true, we've spent sums of money in the last decade that only 4 or 5 other clubs in the world have exceeded. It's just that as the years have passed its been increasingly badly managed. I know it gets a lot of people on here angry when it's mentioned but the De Bruyne business kills me. Any idiot could see how good he was and we let him go. Whatever the reason for it, it's just not justified or excusable.

City will walk the league this season. I'd be amazed if they lose anymore than a couple of games all season. And they could have a reasonable stab at the Champions League too.

I get your point, but lets look at the team today:

                                Bravo

Sagna       Otemendi               Kolarov        Clichy

                           Fernandinho

Sterling          KDB                Gundogan      Nolito

                           Ineachaho

On paper that's hardly the best team in the world, and not even the best in the premier league. I would take our XI as oppose to that, yet our XI plays nowhere near to the fluidity this team played at. What he has done already is incredible.

Let's just hope they burn out. I distinctly remember a season where Man City thrashed everyone at the start of the season and tailed off at the end... hoping it repeats again.

Blimey, it's a wonder you was even able to type that considering how dark the blue tinted specs you're wearing.

There's no way our XI is better than theirs, as much as it pains me to say it.

Their team looks balanced, which I don't think we do but more than that they've got quality depth.

Who do you think has the strongest XI in the Premier League if not City?
