David Luiz back at Chelsea

I wish David all the best 'cos he's now a Chelsea player (err..again) but with his transfer fee first time from Benfica plus Matic, who we eventually brought back for 21 million, I can't help but think he's Chelsea's most expensive player ever.

Or in other words, the player who has cost the club the most money to date.

Wondering if his time in France has improved his defensive abilities I took a butchers at the 2015-16 French League season.

PSG won it with a 31 point gap over the second club and with a rather tight goal difference of plus 83.

Oh shirt! .

I really do hope that this transfer somehow works out but I can't help but think on seeing this news, in Spain Nando is brushing the dust of his Zorro mask and is looking forward to January.

He is simultaneously one of our biggest sales, so i think we more or less break even on him, minus his wages. Its a funny old world

I Think LUIZ is just what we need, his character, passion etc.

I really think he is underrated, Technically more gifted then Cahill by far.

English, I could kiss you. Spot on. The cult of personality and chrisma wins every time over brains and ability.

Yeah damn these modern fans with their passion and desire for excitement and fun! What do they think this is, a game?! Hawkins, fetch me my spreadsheet! At least one of us will give this team the cold statistical analysis it deserves!

The question is, where will he play? As an actual CB instead of Cahill? Or will he be DM alongside Kante?

And where the hell does Alonso fit into this?

Arsenal - Mustafi, Utd - Bailly, City - Stones. Liverpool signed other players.

As a stop gap for a year Williams is a much better defender than Luiz.

Mustafi - Unproven
Bailly - Unproven
Stones - Proven Liability
Williams - Proven outside of Swansea?

I'm not sure you're getting better with any of these guys.

Williams is unlikely to be what Conte wants, he has that committed, combative CB in JT, Cahill or Zouma.

Mustsfi and Bailly *could* be good but who knows? It might take them months, even a season to settle and even then their game might not be suited to the league or our team.

As for Stones... well we've seen what he is capable of and I'm sure as hell he's not a £50m defender.

i'm guessing you didn't watch any united game this season, as much as i love slating united, they hit the goldmine with bailly, kid looks like the real deal

United havent been tested so far this season, and the very little Bailly has had to do, he has looked rash, charging into players and giving away silly freekicks

Agreed. Southampton, Bournemouth and Hull are hardly the toughest start for him. [emoji849]

Other's clubs got there targets proven or not. That's the risk in football.

Chelsea brought someone who has proven in the past his a liability, least they knew beforehand.

£100 over ten months. That's the best I can do, I'm not made of money

How you keep to your word is entirely up to you, 10 monthly instalments is fine, it'll be like Council Tax and everyone loves paying that.

You already donate anyway, pretty sure you'll get a pass on your statement

lol no and no and no, we must've been seeing a different games, or you just being the ultimate homer like in the aguero vs costa debate

i agree that it's still to early in the season, let's just see then

yes we havent had a very hard start, but im talking about Bailly im not comparing him to any Chelsea defender

That's how it all started was comparing with Luiz.

Just showing Chelsea's start has been just as easy as Utds

what??? so your saying Bailly has been tested then? :laugh2: Wilson, Long and Hernandez were all left isolated against the Man United defense, there is not much they can do on their own, against any defense.
