Yes, a highly successful goalkeeping  coach with an unfortunate name...

Louis van Gaal's name is being touted once again, and so is Henk ten Cate's... remember him? You're so lucky if you don't.

I'm sure that there was a French international goalkeeper called Dropsey in the 1970s!

England U20 world champions.  Congratulations to JCS  and Tomori ...and Solanke.

Congrats also to Reece James, Martell Taylor-Crossdale, Tariq Uwakwe, and Ike Ugbo who followed up their excellent season by retaining the Toulon tournament title with England yesterday.

Was at the Ireland v Austria game last night. Felt the refereeing was poor in the game, but we were awful in the first half, so on the whole the draw was probably deserved for both sides. However I still fail to see why the winner was disallowed, looked to me like Duffy just got above the Austrian defender and got a run at the ball. Team selection was poor though, our best playmaker was sitting on the bench for 70 minutes. We set out for the draw but should have aimed higher.

The referee was atrocious, giving a free to Austria when Dragovic went full Maradonna because Walters was nearby summed up his performance. Nothing wrong with Duffy's goal, and it wrecks my head when people whinge a out the lack of physicality in football and then cry foul when players fall over at corners. Overall though, a draw was a fair result, it was poor team selection and a dire first half, I don't like criticising managers, but MO'N got it wrong for this match. Ireland looked much better when going 4-4-2 with Murphy and Walters up top (I've always been of the opinion that if we're going to persist with long balls Ireland should play 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 with Murphy up to knocking the ball down to either Walters or Long).

Anyway, given how results panned out it wasn't a bad day in the end. I watched the Wales-Serbia match and while they look good going forward, Serbia are poor at the back and if they had Bale, Wales would have punished them I think. On the whole, 6 matches played, 12 points and second place, I know the casuals will be pissing and moaning as usual, but I'm sure Austria and Wales would love to be in the position of ourselves and Serbia right now. Should be an exciting end to the group

I think most English have come to terms with the fact that we are pretty sh*t.

Wow..... you could not have timed your post any worse.  :laugh2:

Not a world cup qualifier but it's about England.

Man City were ripped off when they signed Sterling and Stones, they are awful footballers.

Sterling: Take a yard of pace out of his game and he is no better than a league 1 footballer. Can't finish, can't pass, takes the wrong option more often than not. I genuinely don't know what it is about him that is supposed to be so great.

Stones: Can't defend, he's sh*t at it. I remember people at the start of the season saying Otamendi was getting away with it and Stones was being harshly criticised, obviously that is not true. Look at Stones for England there, he throws himself into a tackle he was never going to win and France score. The guy does this too often, he's so error prone, he makes a load of these errors every game.

10 man France......beating England and still look by far the better team.

England are embarrassing to watch in all honesty. How the hell do clubs manage to get so much money for selling English players ? they suck. Kane is probably the only one that looks up for it at this level and even he was woeful in the Euro's.

Give Pogba room and he will do that. England didn't even have a midfield at times. Watching England was like watching us last season. One simple ball through the midfield and the opposition were in.

It's worrying tbh. There is no real options in the middle of park. Dier is pretty limited, Henderson is a long ball merchant that's rarely fit, Livermore is sh*t, and Ox is a winger. Really need someone like ward-prowse to step up, or maybe on of chalobah baker or rlc can step after looking good for the u21's. Can't see us doing anything at a major tournament for while. The wait continue... lol

Is this the worst England side in recent memory? Knocked out of the Euros by Iceland, just scraping a draw with Scotland, outplayed by 10 men. They'll be lucky to qualify.
